Thanks for the kind remarks re the photos everyone. Yes the weather was crazy, I had packed scarf's & gloves LOL. I was actually wearing a sweater the night we arrived at JFK, and the airport was sweltering. By the time I got to the desk to have fingerprints etc taken, my hands were quite sweaty. well it took 5 or 6 attempts to get the machine to read my prints,I was so embarrassed ! I did clean the screen afterwards LOL.0

Good report Northernlass. strange about the subway machine, we we warned it would ask for a postcode & it did!
I am not surprised you spent so much time around CP, it is so lovely. there is so much more to it than I had imagined,I miss it already. Infact I miss the whole place, there are not many places that I say that about either. I just hope I get to go again. looks like it may have had the same effect on you too:D0 -

You just put in 99999 as the zip code. We had to ask, so confusing why doesnt it just say that!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Hi
We are travelling to ny at the end of the month and on the return flight we are going from newark to Toronto and then connect from their to Heathrow. Would we need a visa or anything? We already have our ESTA's.0 -

Never mind we took this time to try and find the ESB haha haha what a joke that was, biggest building in New York yet you cant see it from the ground,
i saw the Flatiron building and we decided to head for i when we left, we saw it straight away and headed for it but got waylaid in Chna Town
Great trip report!!
Couple of things though, our first trip we had the same problem with esb, i finally asked someone and we were on the next block and the guy quizically looked at me like I was taking the p and pointed skywards.
C21 to wallstreet via a subway, its only a few blocks and a nice walk too.
Also if you were standing on/near esb and headed towards flatiron you wouldnt end up in chinatown, unless you had the worlds worst sense of direction I suspect you end up in korea town which is between these two points
You'l see so much more on your next trip and its a city well worth a few visitsLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

Your ESTA is for US border entry. For Canadian border entry you shouldn't need a Visa (unless you have a criminal record) if it's a short stay. We recently entered Canada on a day trip from New York and didn't need anything but our passports.0 -

Well who would have thought it, we thought we had found Chinatown but found Korea town instead but didnt have a clue :rotfl: so theres another reason to go back...:T
We had no sense of direction at all Phatbear but we thoroughly enjoyed blindly finding places of interest :T
