  • Hi Guys,
We are going to NY on Friday with Virgin(HRW) via BMI from Manchester.

Our tickets ( such as they are) have both flights on the one ticket and I was wondering if the luggage will "go through"?

The thing is having had our luggage lost on BOTH outbound and inbound flights on the SAME holiday with this type of set up), I would PREFER to pick the cases up in Heathrow and check them in with Virgin myself ( thereby cutting out at least a bigger possibility of them going astray.

But given the (to me) strange format of the ticket I wonder if it will AUTOMATICALLY be redirected at London ? ( I have visions of standing waiting for cases that don't appear).

We have a LONG layover in HRW( about 7 hours 'cos they made the BMI one earlier!) so that isn't the issue, my worry is how and if to put BOTH flight codes on the luggage tags and if I do, will that mean the then WILL be "directed through" OR if we just put the London Code on the lables but have BOTH flights on the one ticket will they then get lost in HRW?

Does that make sense? I need to know what to do,, but the BMI website doesn't mention "through baggage" ( that I can find anyway)

PLEASE help! suggestions?, your experiences with this set up?

    Thank you in advance:)

    HRW?

if its a connecting flight then the bags would normally go straight through to the next aircraft

hi guys been a lurker on this thread for a while, going to new york next year as part of my 3 week honeymoon starting in vegas, getting married there, and flying home from new york.

We're looking at a reasonably priced hotel, as we'll probably be low on cash by that point! be in new york on july 5th for 3 nights, doing july 4th in boston. Looking at a hotel called wolcott, anyone been there or recommend a similar hotel?

    cheers,

ps. found this video, it's amazing http://laughingsquid.com/the-sandpit-tilt-shift-video-of-new-york-city/

    just can't believe it's real :)

  • Hi

Can anyone please recommend a good tour company for NY?
The are 9 of us inc 5 kids aged 6 to 13

Trip advisor had good reviews of http://www.realnewyorktours.com/ (walking)

Also came across fun tours http://www.zerve.com/FunTours/viptour which sounds pricey but is chauffeur driven

Was also looking at simply getting a tour bus/coach but read so many opposing views on tripadvisor I stopped looking.

Ideally a bus tour where you can get on/off but worried we will not get back on if they are not regular or full

    Any experiences welcome (particularly families)

    Thanks
