Thank you - I'm looking for somewhere to stay from 14th-17th Oct (ie staying Thurs-Sat night, departing Sunday AM.) Our budget is about $200 a night although I have a feeling we'll need to stretch that a bit!0 -

Loulou, How many is it for? Was the minimum beds/bath you would want? I will do a search for you and see what I can find.0 -

Aw thank you very much - I spent hours searching but with not much luck other than grimey hostels or hotels really far out! Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right places! Its for two people0 -
loulou_1984 have you been on Travelsupermarket to compare hotel prices?
I am going October 2nd and have found it hard to find a decent price on hotel due to it being only a few weeks away.
I managed to find a good deal by finding a decent hotel ( which was over my budget) then googling that hotel and going on every website that came up and found a very good deal on it which was much cheaper than I orginally found. I spend all day finding it but well worth it.
Check Ebookers website that was cheapest for me also 10% off code MVCHOTEL10New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.

I know manhattan traffic can be bad from last time I went just wondering how long people allow to get back to airport.
Flight is with AA at 8.25 in morning so realistically want to be in airport around 6.00 what would be the best time to book car for? Staying at mave hotel on Madison avenue if it makes any difference.
anyone able to advise?0 -

Why do you want to hire a car? The best option would either be to get a cab or the train. Have a look at those options. I imagine hiring a car would be expensive and a lot more hassle.0 -

Wait till your there then take info from the hotel Let them book you a car or cab it would take less than a hour from your hotel to the airport at stupid hour o'clock that you need so
A. There will be plenty of cabs
B. You will sail through to the airport
C. Dont worry until you get into your hotel
D. The hotel book cars/cabs daily to the airport
E. Enjoy NYC shop till you drop in Madison Ave
***Allow double that time during the day to get to check out at JKF or Newark*** this is 5am:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -

Yes travelsupermarket I had a go with - I might try ebookers - thank you for the code!
Just need to see if I can get my $200 back for the apartment deposit\ Cuts into the budget more if I can't, and I have a feeling I won't be getting it back!
