Lose Weight 7

Hello chaps, thanks for all your replies. I'm on two medications both of which are rather well known for making it difficult to lose weight! But I (should, hopefully) be able to come off one of them in December (just in time for Christmas woo!).
As suggested I'll have a chat with my GP next time I go in for my repeat prescription and see if they've got any suggestions or generally can set my mind at ease!
I'm also keeping an eye on how much water I drink (another suggestion), I'm aiming for about 2 litres a day is that right?
I'm overall mostly healthy but I'm going to try to look at the little things that might be hampering me (I've admitted defeat and switched to semi skimmed milk, I have to face facts that it's not helping!) and trying to do better.
Also as I was advised by someone (I do apologise for forgetting everone's names!) I'm going to try not to focus on losing weight but more not putting it on given the health stuff, so in my mind the 2 pound club in now the (don't put on) 2 pound club ;-)
Now all I need is a set of scales that weigh in oz, every little helps ;-)
Best of luck to everyone this week, Gilly/Lois I too am addited to chocolate, I've surprised myself but not having any at all for ages, well not properly, no actual bars, a little bit of something chocolate flavoured yes, but no real chocolate, ok, that sounds feeble, but it's good, no really, trust me!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Lois_Lane wrote:I consider myself to have an addiction to chocolate just like alcoholism, which means a moderate amount isn't enough - so I don't have any. People look at me in amazement when I tell them I haven't eaten chocolate for 3 months, but what most people don't realise is that the cravings disappear after a couple of weeks, so once you get through that, it's easy!
I have a similar experience with bread, I ADORE it and so now dont have any. Although I could easily fit it in to my daily points allowace (ww) I know it would make me want more. And its a feeling I really find difficult to ignore. I stay well away from it now.
Well, I'm back from my 2 weeks off WW and as you can see by my sig it was a week of indulgence. I've put on 3lb in 2 weeks!! But it was my first holiday since 2001 and the first ever with our kids so I went all out to enjoy myself and am not beating myself up over the gain.
I have begun this week (a tuesday for my ww plan) really well and full of hope. I made 3 batches of veg soup on monday so I would have them ready for the week and my organic veg box was delivered yesterday so the house is positively brimming with health food.
I am allowed 25 points a day and am aiming to use all each day this week. I normally try to save a few but my friend who is going to ww with my used all her points allowance every day last week and lost..............5lbs!!!!!!!!
Good luck to all,

Man, I'm bummed out. Just spent some time on the RC website and read some of the success stories. Some of them are ridicuous IMO. People losing 10 stone in a year just by getting more exercise, that sort of thing.
I've been dieting since mid feb and have lost just over 2 stone in that time. Think i may not achieve my target in time for my move to Las Vegas (which could happen anytime from December now!).
I know it's not a big deal really and i'm chuffed that i've lost so much by now but...ach. I guess i'm just feeling sorry for myself. I have all the usual mantras (like "at least losing it slowly means it's probably more maintainable"
) but want to be a size 12 now, not in a year
Just feeling a bit blah, especially as everyone is doing so well here
! I'm sure it's just because my weigh in is tonight after a few days of really falling off the wagon and missing the weigh in last week.
Just wanted a whinge! Seriously, well done to those that have lost again, particularly to Consultant! What a great result for two weeks - hope you feel better soon.0 -
Hi JenIttels sorry to hear you are feeling down, I only joined here on Monday and I have already been bad today. Had to take dougnuts to a work appointment today and as I don't like the jam ones I thought I would be able to resist. What happens!! I go and buy some custard ones which I love and ofcourse I have one.
I am off the the gym tonight but I do feel quite silly to fall off so soon. I hopw you weigh in goes well tonight, hopefully you will just have stayed the same.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks tallgirl - your post made my grumpy face smile!
I don't think you've fallen off with one doughnut - if you'd had five you might be closer! Hope you really enjoyed it at least!
*wonders how long on the treadmill it takes to burn off a custard doughnut*0 -
Thanks JenIttels that made me feel better - I left them at the appointment so I have no chance of getting anymore.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Cheer up Jeni - if the worst happens I'll go to Vegas instead!!
Good luck tonight - It mightnt be as bad as you think!
PS: 2 Stone is great - well done you!0 -
Hi JenIttels,
2 stone is a fantastic achievement. Try not to lose sight of how impressive that is. I'm sure you'll be fit, healthy and fabulous by the time you move to Vegas. Also American sizing is different so you'll probably fit into a smaller size just because of that. A US 14 is a UK 18. Now, isn't that cheering?
Take care. lisele0 -
JenIttels - 2 stone is fab, just think of how good you'll look in Vegas- wish i was going with you, it's my favourite place ever.
I haven't weighed yet today as I've been working all day and just picked kids up. I usually weigh at 10.30, I may go to the WW tonight, but not sure how much it may vary by, if I go hours later than I'm used to. i suppose though just by going I will show how committed I am.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
I've always felt chubby (well, since my teens, although looking at the photos I was never that chubby then!), Now I'm 25 and I still feel chubby, except now I really am terribly fat. I comfort/binge eat when I'm bored/tired/depressed, and we routinely have dinner after 8pm because I often work late. If left to his own devices OH doesn't cook or eat very healthily, although I am not a fan of convenience food. My job is relatively active but I work such long hours I struggle to find time to exercise much other than the occasional walk.
I reckon at 5'3" I could easily lose 5 stone, although I've never been slim so I don't know a realistic target weight. I am blessed  with fantastically muscular legs which I am sure makes me much heavier than I would otherwise be.
My plan is going to include smaller portions, eating more fruit and veg, eating breakfast, and making more effort to walk at night.
I hope I can stick this out because I have never stuck any weight loss out before, but I am going to make myself ill unless I change my habits. I thought that maybe if I could come here for a snivel instead of visiting the fridge when I'm down, that would help?0
