Morning Campers!
Off work tody - have to spend the day unpacking house stuff - need to get curtain poles, pictures, ornaments etc back up  Will leave a good lot packed -eg toys, winter clothes etc. Have a bit to do in the garden to get it back into shape and a bit of a touch up paint job in the hall - that should help burn off a few extra calories from the weekend. It makes me mad every time I think about having to do it.
Lois - I'm back on the straight road again - I was yesterday too. I was dying for greasy hangover food yesterday when the kids were having sausage and chips in a cafe but I resisted and had a healthy baked spud :A I have put Saturday night down as flexible syns and moved on. BTW - My staple shopping list is identical to yours - although I have my "treats" which are options hot chocolate drink (2sysn) and kitkats. I dont have these everyday but find if they are there I can do without, if they arent in the cupboard I crave them and binge on something else
Hope you all have a good day today. Will check back in later.
Where's cheekymole - is she in France?0 -
good morning
funny day here- supposed to be sunny but has been raining all morning- typical eh, just hoping it's nice Fri as we are hoping to go to the beach.
Food at wedding was ok so managed to stay within my p[oints, plus I was driving so stayed on diet coke and water for the day, which is much better than alcohol, obviously as it's point free!
Just got a surprise of a £10 voucher through the post for a survey I completed so that's to treat myself to some bits from Boots for my hols in Sept.
This morning managed to get my lovely cotton trousers that I've had for years, on with no problems. size 14 from la redoute, so that's pleased me. when I last wore them the size wouldn't go up and they were far too tight.
Anyway have a good day.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Hi
I hope I can join this thread as I am currently on the WW plan---I go to a class each Tuesday but really dont seem to be getting anywhere!
I started at 13st 9.5lbs which is wayyyyyyyy tooo high for my 5ft 7.5ins height!! and I am currently 13st 6lbs---total loss of 3.5lbs since April 25th which is all down to my complete lack of motivation.
Anyhow, this week I have given myself a kick up the b** and hopefully I should see a loss tomorrow.
Can anyone please give some tips and ideas to keep me motivated. I am back at the same class I went to 3 years ago when i lost 17lbs and was then 6lbs off my target weight of 11stone 6lbs!!!
The leader is brilliant---it is just me---cant seem to get my head in to gear!!!!
I am 42 next week and dont want to go through my 40s being overweight
Thanks for any tips

I've bloody stayed the same again. It's getting distressing now. I think it might be the interesting cocktail of medication I'm on and my interesting hormones that's making it practically impossible to lose weight. I have been really good this week, everything low fat, a decent amount of excercise. I have had a few naughty things but not a ridiculous amount. I figure if I'm right and it is down to the drugs/hormones then I should be happy that I haven't put on? Maybe all I can really hope for is to stay the same and hopefully lose a bit for a while? What do you think?Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0

Fritha are you drinking enough water? Could it be down to retaining fluid? At WW last week we were advised we should include medications such as cod liver oil etc into our points as a cod liver oil tablet is 1 point. I had not thought of this before so could it be something like that?WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030

Hi Gilly, and welcome.
I find it really hard to motivate myself to lose weight too, and I think when you haven't got a huge amount to lose, it's too easy to tell yourself it doesn't really matter. I'm often told that I don't need to lose weight because I'm tall so I can carry it, and the more I hear that, the more I start to believe it. So I have to remind myself of all the reasons that I don't want to be overweight. E.g. I'd like to be able to shop for clothes in any shop, not just the ones that sell plus sizes, I want to avoid the health risks associated with being overweight, and most of all, because being slim makes me feel more attractive (and sexy!).
What about increasing the amount of exercise you get as well as following WW? Doing one aerobics class a week, or walking somewhere you'd normally drive can make that slight difference that will get the scales going.
The one thing you have to do is remind yourself that although you may have only lost 3.5lbs since April, that's 3.5lbs less than you were, whereas if you hadn't done anything you might be 3.5lbs or more heavier than when you started.
Set yourself a target, then break it up into bite size chunks that are achievable, say 'this week I'm aiming to lose a pound' and keep that in mind when you're tempted to exceed your points.
And keep logging in here to share your frustrations - we all know how difficult it is, and we can help with support, or a kick up the bum if you want one!
Let me know if you want to join the 2 pound weight loss club - there's more information here if you're interested, and don't worry - you don't have to commit to losing 2lbs every week, you can aim for 2lbs a month if you want.

Thanks for the reply Lois and for all the tips. I have PMd you with my details!
I wondered does anyone have any ideas for simple meals, snacks etc that I can include in the WW plan!!
I find if i have some fresh ideas I can motivate myself for the week!
This week I admit to shopping for "treats" in M and S!! Very expensive but it does somehow get me back on track!!!

Honey - I hope unpacking in the same house isn't depressing you too much.
Cheekymole has gone off camping in France, and I think she said it was for a fortnight, so she's just starting the second week.
You were right about my fluctuating weight... I managed to lose the 2 pounds I gained last week, plus half a pound, so I'm pleased with that. I'd be even happier if I could just lose a small amount every week though!
Fritha - don't be too downhearted about maintaining, it's obvious that you have health issues that are getting in the way. Just remind yourself that to maintain is better than a gain.

Afternoon folks - well second day without my little one and I was gonna clear out the attic but have decided to have a 'me' day instead as I very rarely have 'me' time and I think its important to do so (also inspired by a friend who keeps insisting I should take some time out and relax!!).
So today I have been clothes shopping for my hols and got some new clothes in the next size down which fit great - so although I am not losing weight I must be losing inches from doing my exercises. Also had bra fitted, which I haven't done in years and I was a whole size out both in cup and size, so will have to now invest in some new undies (what a great excuse) lol. Came home and did an hours exercise and then watched a chic flic and now browsing on here relaxing til I pick my little one up at 5pm.
A really lovely day and a worthwhile treat - tonight I am planning a pamper session with a steamy hot bath, facial and a deep cleanse mask for my hair to round the day off. Although I do feel a little guilty that the attic hasn't been done but hey there is always Thursday lol
Jenpoptab - well done on getting into your size 14 trousers. What a fantastic feeling. Enjoy your indulgence at boots you deserve it after loosing 15lb in 2 months.
Gilly - welcome unfortuately I dont do WW so can't give advise but I know others on here do/have so they will be able to help you out.
Fritha - if your concerned re your weight loss and your medication is it worth speaking to your GP or do you already know your medication will do this to you? It may be that your weight loss will show up next week.
Lois - Thanks for your post to Gilly - I found it very inspirational and a good reminder of why I want to loose weight - which is good cause when you have been 'dieting' for a while you kind of loose track of why you are doing it. Also a reminder that the weight I have lost so far whilst not a huge amount in 7 months is also weight off and not weight on which it may have been had I not started SW. Congrats on losing 2.5lbs.0 -
HI Guys, I am a great fan of MSE and I have been lurking around on DFW a while now. I used to work in an office and each Friday we did a weigh in (just the 3 of us). If you put on weight it cost £1 and if you stayed the same it cost 50p if you lost it that was free. I did it for nearly 2 years until I left and
I achieved my target weight of 11 st. I left there in December and I am now 12st 3 which is horrid my clothes is starting to get too tight. I am tall hence the username 6ft 2 but no need to show a huge tummy at 36.
I used to go to the gym twice a week but now with my fluctuating work hours it is impossible to get into a rutine. I am basically a rep so spend a lot of time in the car, on the road and once or twice a week in a hotel. I find it so hard not to each junk as I am on expenses and it is hard to eat well sometimes when you are pushed for time.
I really need some motivation and I was wondering if I could join your 2lb club. I usually work in kilos but I shall try my best to keep up with oyur system.
Just got back off holiday and the diet starts today. Booked in twice for gym classes this week so hopefully if you let me join I can loose some weight this week. Many thanksSave £12k in 25 No 49
