Wow you lot are doing so well - I need to drop a few pounds (well quite a few really:rolleyes: ) so I will be reading your advice and may join in when I can wean myself off the barbeques and all those unhealthy snacks - Julie some of that seems a bit harsh to me (which is probably why I need to lose weight!!) and there is no way I am giving up my Big Brother and Love Island so will just do some sit ups whilst I am watching!! For some reason I thought that the low fat snacks like biscuits often had more calories in to compensate for the lack of taste - looks like i have a lot to learn I guess.:o

Today I am going out to lunch so I think I will start to plan this tomorrow ready for next week:D

Oh I dread those scales tomorrow:rolleyes:

Well done Sankeygirl! you;ll be there beforeyou know it. I have a quick question for SW users - today is a green day and i had a big breakfast - scrambled eggs, turkey rashers, mushrooms and baked beans with oranges to start. I've messed around with the 7 day plan a bit as that was down for thurs but thats no good for me. Thing is, i just realised that the sunday red day breakfast is something fairly similar. Is it okay to have two breakfasts like this two days on the run?

Julie - youtalk a lot of sense, i definitely need to plan my snacks better!

:rotfl: @ Nelski. I did exactly the same thing, I was reading this thread for weeks before I dived in.

Not in a position to offer any advice yet as I am only one week down the line (4lb gone though did I mention that:T :D ) but I think for me the excersise has been the biggest change.

Good luck for the scales tomorrow and enjoy your [STRIKE]last supper[/STRIKE] lunch today:D

Hi Nelski - good to have you here! I wouldnt give up Big Bro either - nor do I fancy doing sit ups during it! Keep posting here and we will keep you right, oh and enjoy your lunch :D

Sankey - you are so proud of yourself - and rightly so - remember that feeling when you are tempted with chocolate or something bad :A

Katie - go for it with the breakfasts - I do this almost every weekend - there are only so many bowls of branflakes or porridge you can eat :rotfl:

You cant have beans tomorrow tho if its red day.

Honey - yes I have one little girl all ready. I don't mind you asking. She has just turned three. Bless her, she is as excited as we are, and she keeps pulling my top up, waving at my tummy and saying "hello baby." :o

Mrs Yatesy - thanks for the words of advice.

I've gotton so used to planning my meals, I'm sure once this sickness settles I'll be ok to plan again. At the moment, I think I'll want something, cook it, and then really can't be bothered. I have been "naughty" this week - trying to get my taste buds working properly! (Big pack of kettle crisps last night! ) Luckily - I mainly fancy jacket potato and baked beans - good for green days - good for slow release energy. Cannot bear the thought of runny foods like muller light yoghurt - which is annoying as I ate quite a lot of those before. Also, I'm eatting apples like there is no tomorrow! I do my shopping on the internet - so I'm less tempted by all the goodies on the ends of the supermarket aisles! I tend to stick to my list of favourites. I'm still trying to walk my 10000 steps per day too, and have deffo beaten that a few days this week. In September, when dd starts nursery at the school it will be easy peasy to walk that or more every day. (I'm a childminder, and in September will be doing 4 school runs a day (I must be mad!)) I figure that if I keep active, then the walking will help to combat the few extra calories I'll be eatting.
Anyway - I'm off to two BBQ's tonight - not an appealing thought - hope they have plenty of apples in their fruit baskets!

Sometimes its a pain starting to peel and parboil isnt it - I'm too impatient :rotfl:

I don't bother peeling the potatoes - doing them in their skins gives them a lovely flavour.

Also, if you use a baking tray with holes in it you'll get quicker, crisper results. I got my baking tray from Lakeland, but I've seen them in other places since. They are designed for cooking pizzas and things that you don't want to have soggy bottoms ;)!

Oh dear - nothing worse than a soggy bottom!

I sometimes dont peel them either - especially new or baby potatoes.
