Hi Guys,
Just a quick hello - Honey, don't worry about the chain, they always rattle a bit, and the nerves are normal, we had the same and in the end everyone is just jittery and so everything seems like a huge deal, they'll sign soon enough!
Congratulations on the baby news Cathy! That's lovely, and sometimes a surprise is nicer than trying and waiting all the time! Both mine were surprises and it was so chilled. I was at SW when I found out I was pregnant second time around, and I didnt go to class, or keep to the suggested levels (I think you are advised to have all your syns and an extra A at least and maybe an extra B too, will look it up in my book and let you know. Anyway, I didn't keep it up and put on loads of weight with the second, but went straight on it (not class, just the plan) after she was born (well after Christmas day - she was born on Christmas eve!!), even whilst breastfeeding, and lost a lot of the weight within the first 6 weeks! Do whatever suits, at least you know the fundamentals and can pick it up afterwards. My midwife said SW was fine, but you do have to have their OK incase it is not suitable for your specific case I think.
Anyway good luck and hope the morning sickness passes!!
MrsYatesy xMisguided maybe, but never really bad!! :A0 -

Oops! pressed thanks instead of quote!:o
They took longer to brown than I thought. Not too sure if it was because we have a convection oven or what? I reckon the oven wasn't hot enough.
They had much more flavour than "regular" oven chips! I'll definitely be making those again.
Has anyone any idea if you can freeze parboiled potato chips so I can make up a load and stick them in the freezer?
Still don't know how I can eat so much and still lose weight...I'm definitley feeling very positive for this weekend. It only takes a little bit of planning and you get loads (or is it simply that not having to count every single bite that goes into my mouth makes me feel fuller and less deprived and like I'm on a diet? Answers on a postcard to...........):rotfl:Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Delly - you need to have your oven up really high to cook them and keep turning them so they brown all over. They are my favourite. I'm sure you could parboil them and freeze them. Sometimes its a pain starting to peel and parboil isnt it - I'm too impatient :rotfl:
Its really hard to get your head around the increased eating and associate it with weight loss. I think everyone says this during the first week - my mum was convinced I was trying to sabotage her and that she was going to have put weight on in her first week :rotfl: She lost 3 1/2 lbs. If you stick to it, it will work. Just keep an eye on your syns and your HE's.

Hello everyone , hope you're all ok an doing well.
I tried the no count plan on WW last week and felt rotten about all week, I just felt I was eating loads and though it felt great to be full I just felt wrong...but! i lost 1.5lbs so I guess I must have done something right! Looking back on the full choice menu my snacks were getting a bit too treaty if you see what I mean, saving too many points for too many nice snacks. Whereas on no count I've literally only eaten fruit and not really missed other stuff as I've been nice and comfy.
However, al went wrong today:(
Got called into work, so took food for lunch, a few apples in case of snack attacks. There was a retirement party on with a buffet. I didn't touch it at all, presumed I would leave at six but it was too busy and I had to stay till nine, I was starving - i broke and had 6 mini quiches and 2 mini springrolls
I did however feel horrible right after, not just guilt but I've been eating so much fresh stuff they genuinely didn't taste right. You get 21 points to use a week on no count and i used a whopping 8 points right there, but the good thing was I had my pedometer on so i actually earned a few bonus points which have reduced the damage a bit (I work in a bar and I actually walked the equivalent of 5 miles today!)
Funny, the buffet smelt gorgeous all day, it was killing me to resist it and then I was so hungry I couldn't, but it just didn't taste that good at all - I used to love all that stuff.
My tastes are obviosuly changing, this is my first serious wobble since I joined WW 6 weeks ago and unfortunately those bloody mini quiches are very bad!:mad:0 -
I am the same pug-in-a-bed, I've been at ww 6 or 7 weeks now and had a chinese for the first time this week. It just felt yucky and I see the oil on the plate. I did eat as much as I could enjoy which was half the portion, in my pre ww days I would have finished the lot and had afters too!!! I have occasional lapses but they are tending to happen less and I am tending to enjoy them less and less - even chocolate!!!
My bid downfall is bread, I have to avoid it completely now rather than allow myself a few bits a day, points counted of course. I found the first 3 weeks the best and am nw trying to replicate them interms of what I was eating then. It seems I was eating soup lots which increased my fruit and veg and water but is really low in points.
When i get back from my week away it looks like I'll be doing lots ofWW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -

You're right :rotfl: - peeling and parboiling does take a long time. I'm off to buy a huge bag of spuds to peel, parboil and freeze in individual portions for couldn't be bothered days (mostly when OH is on night shift.)Its really hard to get your head around the increased eating and associate it with weight loss. I think everyone says this during the first week - my mum was convinced I was trying to sabotage her and that she was going to have put weight on in her first week :rotfl: She lost 3 1/2 lbs. There's the thing. I have been sticking to 3-4 HE's every day and I'm finding it hard at the minute to spend my syns (that's why I had the bicci's last night). I can't help but think I should be using my syns! I suppose when I get the hang of it it'll all work out! When is weigh in?
Weigh in is on Tuesday night. I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay to Image therapy this week. That was one of the original reasons why I joined WW. When OH is on night shift, he leaves home around 6.30 and I'm left with DS by myself with no car. I would take him but the meeting is up 2 flights of stairs with no lift and there's no way I'm bumping a buggy up that many stairs. I'll just have to make sure I stick with the support on here to keep me going until OH has Tuesdays off for a few weeks.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Pug - Well done on the 1.5lbs off :jFunny, the buffet smelt gorgeous all day, it was killing me to resist it and then I was so hungry I couldn't, but it just didn't taste that good at all - I used to love all that stuff.
Good for you for managing to resist the buffet for as long as you did. That took a serious amount of willpower and motivation.:TGot called into work, so took food for lunch, a few apples in case of snack attacks. There was a retirement party on with a buffet. My advice would be to learn from this experience - plan a bit better in future, count the excess points that you've eaten and forget about it. Maybe you could fit in a bit more exercise this weekend to make up for the 8 unplanned points and try to have extra free foods with you to allow for times when you might be behind schedule or at risk of missing a meal. Do you have a fridge at work where you can keep some low fat yoghurts and things that you could use to tide you over till you get home?My tastes are obviosuly changing, this is my first serious wobble since I joined WW 6 weeks ago and unfortunately those bloody mini quiches are very bad!
It's good that you've discovered that you don't actually like these mini quiches any more! that's a real development.:j Just remember that for the future.
Good luck with the rest of the week.

I wouldn;tworryabout the lapse pug - i work in a bar too, and the amount of running around in this heat that you are doing will probably help balance it all out. Glad to hear that you are finding that you don't actually want 'bad' food - i really hope that happens to me too!
delly - i'm on my first week too, and i'm thinking the same. I'm eating about twice as much food as i used to so how on earth will i lose weight? Well, I'll see on monday night at the gym . . . . .0 -
Morning everyone
Well today was my weigh in and I have lost 4lb this week which I am soo pleased with. :j
I know its my first week and a lot of that will be water etc etc but its given me a real good start:o
As I said I am not sticking to any regime food wise just being much more careful with my choices and quantities! I did however do a a lot more excersise this week - mostly walking so I think that has really helped. I am also drinking a lot more water.
Next week I have some Paul Mckenna Weight Loss CDs to listen to which I have listened to before and he seems to talk a lot of sense so that should give me a boost as well. So next weeks goal is just 21b.
Kiwi chick I think you should just enjoy your holiday without worrying too much about the diet - You can start again refreshed next week - just my opinion though:o
Good luck everyone for next week

Good morning all, 3lb loss this week:A over the moon!
I had a carefull week, thinking of reporting my weight loss OR gain realy helps.
Two days for main dinner I ate steamed fresh vegetables and boiled pasta, one day cottage pie and steamed vegetables, yesterday I cooked a joint of pork - so ate sliced pork and steamed vegetables.
SIN of the week - I took the children I look after to Mc Donalds(school hols)
and ate a wopper meal. I felt so guilty I did not eat much for the rest of the day!
Diet Tips
I found theese tips and would like to share them with everyone...
1. First things first: EAT!
Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plan to have snacks throughout the day. Do not skip meals or planned snacks. Skipping nutritious foods will make you feel uncontrollably hungry!
2. Avoid Unhealthy Snacks.
If you can avoid purchasing any unhealthy snacks. There are so many "good for you" snacks on the market today, there is no reason why you should have a cupboard full of cheese curls and chocolate. Start learning to read the back of the packages on foods-look at the fat content-if it says that the fat content is over 5% per serving-look for a different snack.
Here's a list of healthy snacks that are low in fat content, but still high in satisfaction(and I'm not talking about carrots and celery)
Prezels
Low fat crackers
Low fat bicsuits(try rice biscuits)
Fresh fruit
Stick of sugar-free chewing gum
Licorice
Raw veggies with non-fat salard dressing for dip
3. Treat yourself to some scented candles.
When you feel like you need a snack-light the candles and enjoy them!
4. Instead of a snack, have a drink.
Plenty of water in the tap! Ha ha
5. Take up something you can do with your hands
crochet, knitting, puzzles, cross-stich, sewing, paint your nails, weed the garden, do the housework, look at a magazine for the fashions you will buy when you are thinner...In other words, get your mind off food and into a healthy hobby.
6. Don't watch TV.
TV encourages snacking-you're sitting there, you feel like you should be doing something-so you go for a snack. Also, most commercials are about food.
7. Brush or floss your teeth
When you're finished with a meal or a planned snack, brush and floss your teeth-this will help you stay away from food for about an hour.
8. Think about what you are doing.
Just take about one minute to think about what you are doing. Go look at yourself in in the mirror during this minuite. Ask yourself, "Do I realy want to eat this and PAY the CONSEQUENCE?".
9. SNACKING AND NIBBLING CAN BE THE DEATH OF A HEALTHY DIET.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0
