Well done to JenIttels, Gillette 147 and phoebe03cat = great losses.:T
Consultant 31 - thanks for the mix 2 match stuff. Can I ask about Syns though? My original consultant said you had to count the food as syns against the opposite meal. I was so confused - I never really bothered with it. I thought I'd use many more. Did I just misunderstand her?:o0 -
Just posted something about losing weight in the old fashioned moneysaving thread - then found this. whoops.
Quikte a newbie to mse but really like it and really want to lose some weight - feel like i've always been a bit chunky but i tend to yoyo with my weight. Basic problem is i love eating - i do it when i'm happy, sad, all the time. Doesn't help that i work in the food industry too!
I've given some serious thought to joining sw, probably online as don't fancy the meetings and don't have time - i'd have to cut the gym which might not be the greatest idea. I downloaded the 1 week programme to try as of monday and shopped it last night. Yowch! 50% over the normal shopping budget and thats' with OH living out of the freezer! I've stuck religiously to the plan, so does it get cheaper when you have access to the full information? Having motivated myself to do this it was quite disheartening to realise that if it costs that every week it's totally impossible.0 -

Hi and welcome.
I don't find a lot of difference in my shopping bill - but then I did used to buy lots of chocolate, biscuits, crisps etc. Now, the money I save on those items goes towards buying more fruit and veg. I buy seasonal stuff and ignore anything that's premium price. Probably you've bought loads of stuff that you can find a cheaper alternative to when you get your head round it.
It is perfectly possible to get all you need from SW online, but for support and motivation (specially at the beginning) I don't think you can beat going to class. There's nothing to stop you getting all clued up at a class, then going it alone with the help of a board such as this one.
Whatever you decide, congrats on picking SW - it really is a brilliant diet (specially if you like to eat a lot) :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Crikey, it's got busy on here all of sudden! Hello to all the new people, and congrats anyone who hasn't put on a stone this week (I'm drinking so much water I had to pee four times between going to bed and going to sleep last night!) :-) Just to annoy everyone I would like to show of my 'thin' ankles, sorry I'm a magical non swelling person! Although I gather once it stops being so bloody hot they'll disappear again so keep heart swollen ones!
Lois: yes, I can be [STRIKE]stroppy little madam[/STRIKE] motivational so and so, when I want to be be, Fritha is my viking name you see. I can sword fight. And there I think we have the follow up to Cheekymole's kick up the bum, anyone still misbehaving will have a sword up the bottom!
I managed to walk four miles in the blistering heat yeaterday (it seemed like a good idea at the time!) I think I sweated myself down to two stone! I may try some indoor excercise today (after I've spent an hour wandering round tescos, hey I'm still walking!) :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

Anything you have with your main course is counted at the syn value for that meal. You still have your HEs every day to go with your meal or to eat as snacks.
If you have anything else between meals (or a starter/pudding with your meal) that is a synned food it must be counted at the highest syn value.
It's very simple if you just eat a main course (make it a big 'un then you don't need a pud) and only eat superfree foods at other times.
You also still have 5 - 15 syns a day to use as you wish.
Hope that makes it a little clearer :beer:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Boo! Hiss! Mine are practically hanging over my shoes - I hate the heat
Good for you with the walking, wow, you must be fading away :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
I’m sunburnt, tired and have only really just got home but I wanted to make a quick post (which may include barble as my brain isn’t working) about a dessert I’ve just made myself.
I really like c31’s malteser freezer but realised I like it even better when it’s just chilled and not frozen!
So tonight, to use up some strawberries I made a version consisting of a tub of strawberry cheesecake mullerlight (I’ve only ever seen them as part of a 6pack incidentally), half a tub of quark, some chopped strawberries and a little sweetner.
It’s even more like cheesecake cause of the quark and is just delicious. I meant to put all of it the fridge to properly chill and have later but I’ve accidentally eaten half of it.
Babble over.
PS went to a fabulous airshow today. Was fabulous. Hope you’re all good.0 -
Jeni - I was like that last night - I fancied the sound of it except I had no quark and couldnt be bothered to wait for it to freeze :rotfl:
I ahd mushed up maltesers mixed through toffee muller light and it was y.u.m!!
Hope the sunburn eases - try natural yog if its really bad!!0 -
Oh wow JenIttels, that strawberry cheesecake sound yummy. I'll be giving that a go over the weekend.
It's years since I went to an airshow, but I do remember how exciting it was!
I did the Yorkshire Show last week and came home tired and sunburned but, like you, having had a fab time. I love those sort of days out :T
Off for a long, cool bath then early to bed - got a busy day tomorrow.
Nighty night all xxI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Night Night John Boy!0
