Lois, I found this little nugget which makes a lovely thought for the day. Hope you don't mind my posting it!

    Good afternoon,

Well, I stayed the same this week, a little disappointed but after reading this thread I am going to blame it on fluid retention, rather than fat retention.

I am going to try Mix2Max for the first time today, see if that will get things movimg!

Bit down, but definately not out!

    Minerva

PS I have swollen ankles too - how unattractive!

Well done Jeni, good for you.
Minerva - shame about the maintain but at least it wasnt a gain and you seem to be in the determined frame of mind to get round it. I'd be interested to hear how you get on with mix2max - I read it and the success express but they are beyond my understanding... :rotfl:

Evening all, I have not weighed in this week due to work commitments, I was in a hotel for 2 nights and I have been a little naughty as the food was wonderful. To be honest I didn't go as mad as I could have but I would be surprised if I lose next time I go to class.

My sister, who is my SW buddy, has just got engaged and she is having a party at the end of August, I am looking forward to seeing people I haven't seen for ages( it's nice when people notice you are slimmer LOL) and wearing something nice on the night. So that's motivation to keep on track!

Well done to everyone who has lost this week, we are going out for dinner tonight as it's our wedding anniversary, I think it will be the curry house so I will try to be good!

    Hiya people.

    I've lost 6st exactly since Jan 3rd.
I'm GOING to lose 2 stone more.
    (I'm a bloke BTW).

I've been out occassionally and I eat normally then.
Eat all the fruit and veg you like.
If you slip for a day or even two just get back on it.
Set yourself a timescale of 1/2 stone per month. Calculate how long it will be to do it and don't take any notice of the scale's up's and downs. Judge progress per month not week.

I promise you no-one on this thread is addicted to food more than me.
Don't give up and you will do it.

    Good Luck

JenIttels Excellent weight loss this week. You must be the only person left with slender ankles :rotfl:

Gillette Wow, what a weight loss. Congratulations. It just goes to show what CAN be done. Mind you, I always say it's easier for men :rotfl:

Nearlyrich Have a wonderful anniversary meal. Back on track tomorrow I hope! You sound well motivated. Good for you!

Minerva Don't worry about a little hitch. Just keep to plan and it will probably catch up next week. Mix2Max may well help you over the hurdle.
Yes, the ankles are not my most attractive feature at present :D

    You're all individuals.

I did it on my own.
I eat fruit during the day.
Veg and a bit of meat for main meal (I have grilled turkey alot) (and cook extra veg to pick at later).
Then supper either nothing if not starvin or fruit/veg.

Every three days I get a mad meat craving. So I keep some weightwatchers frozen meals in. If I really get greedy I might eat 2 or three of them (I'm a night eater) but these still only add up to about 700cals.

You can only fight either cravings or hunger.
Either cut down your amount or cut out the naughty stuff. Both is too tough.

Weight loss makes no sense. Ignore fluctuations. Over a month you will lose.

Allow yourself all fruit and veg. Then experiment to find veg you like or ways to cook veg that makes it edible.

Parsnips cooked in a stock cube.
Swede with soy sauce sprinkled on it.
Tinned tomatoes pepped up with chilli powder.
For me grilled mushrooms taste like meat so I eat loads.

For sweet cravings - banana etc or have a low calorie hot choc drink.
If you want more ideas you can PM me.

    Cheers

For anyone who would like to try Mix2Max and is unsure how to do it. Perhaps this short menu planner will help (2 days, 3 meals a day):-
    DAY 1
Scrambled egg, tomato & chive toastie:Tuck into 2 slices of wholemeal toast*, topped with a mountain of scrambled egg, lots of baked beans and grilled tomatoes. Serve sprinkled with chopped chives.
Tuna, feta & mixed green salad: Enjoy unlimited tuna (fresh or canned in brine) served with a large mixed salad (tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, boiled egg, beetroot, pickled onion, gherkins, peppers, apple) with 42g feta cheese* crumbled on top. Plus a very low fat yogurt, any variety and unlimited fresh fruit.
Roasted vegetable couscous & fruit salad:Place chunks of mixed peppers, courgettes, red onion, mushrooms and aubergine on a roasting tray with some cherry tomatoes. Sprinkle over some chopped garlic and herbs and spray with Fry Light. Bake at 200°C/400°F/Gas 6 until tender. Pile it on your plate with loads of couscous. Follow with a lovely big bowl of Superfree fresh fruit salad made with chopped pineapple, mango, starfruit, kiwi and pomegranate.
    DAY 2
Grapefruit/grilled bacon:Start your breakfast with fresh grapefruit followed by a plateful of grilled bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms served with 2slices of wholemeal toast*.
Pasta salad: Make a mountain of pasta salad with cooked pasta bows, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onions and sweetcorn served with mixed salad leaves and sprinkled with 12 cashew nuts*, plus a pear or two.
Prawn stir-fry/yogurt:Enjoy a big bowl of stir-fried prawns, bamboo shoots, baby whole sweetcorn, water chestnuts, bean sprouts, pak choi, mixed peppers and mushrooms in soy sauce (Chopsticks optional), followed by a very low fat yogurt and unlimited fresh fruit.
In between times: munch on Superfree boiled eggs, quorn sausages, vegetable sticks dipped in very low fat cottage cheese (throw in some garlic and herbs for extra oomph!), fresh or frozen fruit, your Healthy Extra ‘a’ choices and Free yogurts.

It does work if you stick to it - should give you a well deserved boost.
Incidentally, Superfree foods are those things that are free on both plans (for instance, fresh fruit and most fresh veg, though not potatoes, peas, parsnips and sweetcorn)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
