Fritha - How about sorbet - as far as I know it isnt as calorific as ice cream - I get it when the kids get icecream and tell myself that- I'm not such an :A that I get nothing :rotfl:

Thanks consultant - I dont have a great appetite (I do for chocolate :D ) but I am making the effort to eat regular meals now since starting SW. I'm trying to stick to a lot of super free foods this week.

Is there anything in particular to eat/drink that will counteract the effects of water retention in this weather??

Moira - I agree about the weather - i think it makes us feel heavy. Pity about the gain but great news about the last minute holiday - where are you off to??

We are going to Whitemead which is in the Forest of Dean and apparently its a bit like centreparcs with lots of out doors things to do and also swimming pool etc. So hopefully lots of exercise with my two year old and my friends five year old twins lol:rotfl:

    Hi

I put on 1lb which I am disappointed about, however as i lost 3.5 lb last week I cant complain as that's still 11.5lb since June. I am going to be strict this week and hopefully next week I'll make up for that blip.

Dont be too hard on yourself Jenpoptab - I think a lot of people are in the same situation with this heat. 11.5lb since June is a great result. Its taken me from January to get there at a snails pace!

Moira - have a great holiday - wont it be great if this weather keeps for you - fingers crossed!

Sadly I don't know of anything except to drink (even) more water! Some people are prone to swollen ankles etc in the heat, they're not pretty and they can be quite painful. The only ray of sunshine (if you'll excuse the expression) is that this sort of weather rarely lasts long
Regular meals are important. If you can't eat big meals, try having 4 or 5 light meals during the day instead. Every time you eat, your metabolism revs up, and stays high for around an hour, so, in fact, you're better off to eat more regularly - yay! suits me, bring it on :rotfl:

Jenpoptab Don't worry, it's probably just that you're retaining water with the heat. Hang in there, it'll come off if you stick with it :)

Moiracm Have a lovely holiday, it's a beautiful part of the world. The weather is apparently going to break for a day or so and then come back again, so enjoy yourself!

Punky Good for you, you've done really well :T The lollies sound lovely, very refreshing
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Hi all - phew, it's so hot it's an effort even to move!

Punky - well done! :T That's an excellent result for your first week, especially considering everyone else is struggling with the heat.

Fritha - thanks for the pep talk! I could just imagine you as a boss trying to stir up her team, with one hand on your hip and the other wagging a finger...:D

Dellybelly - sorry for making you aware of your swollen ankles :o Mine were really bad when I got home from work, but I soaked them in a bowl of cool water for a while and they've gone down now.

Cathys1 - well done for getting your club 10, that is definitely an achievement and you will probably notice some improvements in your health as a result. :T

Honey - some fruits are supposed to have diuretic properties - melons and strawberries spring to mind, but I'm sure there are others.

Moiracm - have a great holiday!

Thanks Lois. Just back from Mr Tesco and have bought both of these! Its so much easier to eat fruit when the weather is like this isn't it?

I agree - I just had some fresh pineapple with grapes, and now I'm thinking about putting a few grapes in the freezer as a cool treat for later.
