Have you ever considered that it may be the diet that failed you?
If it required superhuman effort, then you didn't fail, it did.

  • Phew! Is it really a week since I've posted?? So much to catch up with on the board and how slack of me.....must try to post more often.

Well this week I've not lost any weight. That's now a total loss of 5lbs in 6 weeks which is utter pants considering I've done so well on previous attempts. Yes I had one 'off' day where I visited my brother and had a blow out - I decided that was a 'flexible syns' day and still kept an eye on what I ate and drank for the night. Was straight back on the plan the next day.

Am feeling miffed with this at the moment....but as I always say, I'm not going to give up - especially when I've forked out a lot of money to join SW online!!

The past couple of days I've been suffering with a cold and it's on the chest so I haven't been out running. I'm not having any sweets or cough medicine as I want to carry on with the plan so lot's of water and paracetamol....

So here's what I've eaten today for example:

Breakfast: 28g Shredded Wheat Bitesize and 250ml semi skimmed milk.

Snack: Strawberries with quark and a little sweetner.

Lunch: Pasta, baked beans, pepper & mushroom stew.

Dinner: Baked potato with baked beans and 42g reduced fat chedder.

Snack: 52g Houmous with carrot sticks.

All day drinking water or sugar free fizzy drinks.

I mostly do green days and pasta figures alot so maybe I'll try and mix it up a bit?

Anyway, sorry for wittering on! Hope you're all well. Well done all who are losing you are an inspiration to me and many others :)

    Hi

:j Finally reached my club 10!!!! Lost two this week, so my 100% (well 98%:o week worked!) Want another 1/2 lb for stone and a half sticker! Our SOW lost an amazing 11 lbs at group.

I know what you all mean about this heat. I got dead scared before I went into class, I have drunk so much water this week, I thought I might maintain while my body adjusts. I just hoped that the grapefruits I had eaten after re reading some old posts in the other thread would tip the balance.

Anyway - we'll all feel even hotter tomorrow - so stay safe everyone.

Well done on getting your club 10 Cathys1. That's a fantastic milestone to reach. How motivated are you now?:j

I've drank so much water today my ankles have started to swell. I haven't felt my feet this bloated since right after DS was born!:rotfl: I blame Lois for making me notice that my ankles are swelling..:D . I wouldn't have checked if she hadn't mentioned hers.... Having said that, I've drank more fluids today than ever before... I think I reached 3ltrs.:A .. are you proud of me Consultant31? You're always saying in weather like this we should double our fluid intake.

Moiracm, never mind about the 1/2lb on. I say go and enjoy your last minute holiday away. Just make sure that you leave the sunshine behind you

Marjorie the worst thing you can do is dwell on the past couple of weeks. Don't look at your weight loss as "only 5lbs".... it should be ... 5 lbs.... fantastic:j . 5lbs in 6 weeks is a very healthy and sustainable weightloss. Keep at it, as we all say on here, it'll come off eventually.

And as for the money we all pay for our slimming clubs - do you realise that if we don't consistently follow our plans, we're actually wasting our money:eek: I'm not saying that attending class is wasting our money, WW and SW and all the rest are providing a service to us, it's up to us to use it (like that gym membership we never use! :p) Ah, well, I've just flushed about £20 down the drain in the past month.:money: I'd better make my money start working for me. It's just as well I had a 100% day today (but who can eat anything unhealthy in this heat?)

    Enjoy the sun tomorrow everyone.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Firtha this is the thread for running if you want it:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=184833&highlight=i+wanna+learn+how+to+run

Obviously, when i say 'run' I actually mean I flail along a dirt track, hidden by woods, at a pace mildly faster than walking. It still kills me though.

Haven't a clue how i'll do at weigh in tonight. Had a bad week last week as i was at a fancy hotel with work with a limited and very rich menu. Missed the weigh-in last week because of it. Tried to be good since but was in london with bloke at weekend and got utterly seduced by the wagamama chocloate fudge cake :o(OMG - it was absolutely amazing. I'm not eating choclate cake from anywhere else ever again. If you're gunna blow the diet then blow it on this cake!). Have done loads of swimming (pool at hotel) and walking about (in london) so may have evened out. May have, however, put on a stone. :D

Tune in tomorrow for the next exciting installment of 'JenIttel's lame attempt to lose weight'...

    Thanks dellybelly, :)

Having a bit of an off day yesterday, but you're right - I've still lost 5lbs so can't complain.

I did something very naughty this morning.....I weighed myself and found I was 2lbs down. Now I'm not going to get excited about this as I have the rest of the week to go yet, but I found it encouraging!

Right that's it, I'm off to see if I can beat your 3ltrs of water today ;)

I certainly am very proud of you Dellybelly, and I hope you're proud of yourself for reaching your target as well. Good on you! :D

Marjorie Dellybelly's right. You should be proud of your achievements so far. I know it can be frustrating when everyone around you seems to be losing twice as fast, but it's not the issue really. What we're all trying to do is lose the weight for ever and that means re-educating yourself in healthy eating habits. This takes time and you often find that the people who lose weight fast haven't actually learned anything and therefore put their weight back on. Try putting some cans of soup or beans or something (weighing 5lbs) in a bag and carrying it around with you for a while. Each week add to your bag the weight you have lost and do the same thing. You will begin to appreciate what you are achieving.

Cathys1 Congrats on getting your club 10. At this point you can be assured that you have gained significant benefits to your health. You should feel very proud! Good luck with the ½lb for your 1½ stone award!

Phoebe keep squirting, it's free :rotfl:

Honey Most of my members have either maintained or put on a tiny bit this week and almost all of them had swollen ankles. It stands to reason that this is retained water and it's going to show on the scales.
Don't beat yourself up, just stick to the plan. One little nugget jumped out at me though. You said your Mum lost quite a bit, and she didn't expect to with eating so much! Is it possible you're not eating enough? SW is a piggy's charter (no offence to anyone). It suits me 'cos I can eat for England, but if you're not a big eater, then it can show in slow weight losses.
I'm sure when the weather cools down, the weight losses will pick up. Keep your chin up ;)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Jen: Thanks for the running link and if you enjoyed the cake it's not the end of the world! You're making an effort that's the important thing! Come on lady positivity!

And that goes for the rest of you lot too (unless you're already being positive in which case, er, do it more!) Eating and drinking healthy is the important bit, if it persaudes some of your *insert hated body part here* off too then that's a bonus! ;-)

DellyBelly: You asked who could eat unhealthily in this heat *looks sheepish* oh come on ice cream! Although I've bought some swedish glace (lactose free, gluten free, dairy free, cholestorol (sp?) free, I don't think there's anything in it!) I've had it before becuase I have a friend who can't have dairy and my word it's yummy, just as good as proper ice cream! So hopefully I won't be too naughty! :-)
