Hi budget_barbie
Your 2005 books shouln't be too much out of date although there will be changes
one that springs to mind is you can now only have 2 slices of nimble bread instead of 3.
Dellybelly - you can take DS (well people bring kids to our class)I haven't got one!0 -
Hi everyone
Still feeling very enthusiastic about new healthy eating plan. Have now pulled out my old WW stuff. Going through some old trackers listing points eaten(was always good at filling these in except when I went through tricky spells!) to remind myself of some old favourites. Main meals are really not a problem for me as OH is veggie and lots of my meals are low fat anyhow.
Where I really fall down on though is snacking. I am at home with the children and have gotten into bad habits of just grabbing a packet of crisps or a handful of biscuits when I am in the slightest bit peckish as opposed to hungry. I am not a huge fruit eater so this is one area I know I can improve on. We went strawberry picking at the weekend and I did buy a bit more variety of fruit this week too.
Does anyone have any ideas for other low fat ready to eat snacks for when I get picky fingers? I do sometimes buy single packs of snack a jacks and mini-ryvitas. Biscuits tend to be a no no as I am the only person who eats them and it's probably best that they are just not bought. I am thinking about those times when I am in the mood to eat someting easy and tasty. My husband is away until next weekend and I my track record isn't particularly good then. I'm probably being a bit pessamistic (am on points and really motivated) but I would like to have a few ideas in the bag so to speak.
School holidays mean that I am on the go a bit more than usual so that is all to the good.0 -
Delly - bring DS - but bring something to keep him occupied so you can concentrate on what they are telling you - its a lot to take in on the first night! Good Luck!
Consultant - I am trying to follow the 2day plan that you posted - breakfast was yum! Quick question though - am I allowed any syns while I am doing mix2max?

Hi everyone
Wondering if you would mind me joining in?
Some time ago I gave up smoking and am pleased to say I have kept to that goal but as with a lot of people I have found the weight creeping up and up all the time until I have arrived at today and decided I have to do something about it.(with your help if thats ok)
I think I am a bit unusual in that I dont actually think food is my issue (although I can definetly do myself some favours by eating healthier for sure)
I have to confess I have drunk a lot more wine since packing in the cigarettes and on top of that have almost completely stopped excersising:o The hot weather hasnt helped but I know that is no excuse because I havent put it all on in the last week!
So I have a target weight loss of 2 stone 2lb:eek:  and I am going to achieve this at a rate of about 2lbs per week which I hope is reasonable.
This is what I have done so far:
I have written out the goal with target date and reasons why
I have hung my favourite size 12 pair of jeans up in sight every day as a motivation
I have made a list of 10 different types of excercise (such as walking, gym, dancing, videos, etc) and I am going to do at least one every day
I have weighed and measured myself thoroughly (v v depressing:D ) so I know exactly what I am dealing with and then set some weekly targets
I am planning to cut down and sometimes cut out the wine - although atm I dont see myself stopping completly for 6 months - sorry:o
Sorry to have rambled on I hope thats OK and I hope I can join in and share with you all how it goes.
ThanksJuly 22nd Weight - 12stone 21b
Goal - 10stone and to get back into my lovely size 12 jeans
July 29th - 11st 12lb 4lb off!!
August 5th - 11st 12lbsame

You are more than welcome to join in - I was going to say there will be plenty of advice on here but you seem to be well organised!
One thing I would say is don't set yourself too high a target - take it step at time - eg by end of the month I am going to have lost xlb...
Some of us on here have done that and thats what we are all working to - there is also Lois' 2lb club - read the 1st entry on this thread - you will find a link to it there and to a recipe thread.
Well done on giving up the cigs :T I have cut down the amount that I drink but havent cut it out completly cos I think I deserve a drink some nights :rotfl: The weight is still coming off tho (albeit slowly) although I havent had a drink for a few weeks (bad hangover:rotfl: )0 -
Hi Sankey girl
Am a newbie to this thread myself having found my way here last week. Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself. More exercise is definitely on the agenda for me too. You sound extremely well organised and very motivated! Keep those jeans in view.
I have a slightly depressing wardrobe section of clothes with tags and cellophane wrapping when I went a bit made at the Summer Next sale 3 years ago now when I reached my target weight. Weeks later I discovered I was pregnant with number 3 and needless to say these clothes have never had an airing. I am determined to get into all those cropped trousers and fitted tops and have been looking through them this week as opposed to turning a blind eye to their existence!
Best of luck!0 -
Hi, Busymumof three,
Yeah, having babies, I gained about four stone the first time and the same with the second. I have done just about every plan, they all work if you stick to them. SW is the way I live my life now. Usually I feel well, but sometimes I feel a ghastly tiredness. The difference is now I reach for the carbs not the fats. Good luck.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0 -
Is anyone trying the weight watchers no count plan? i decided to switch this week for a change from counting points, but I feel really worried about it! it's nice not to have to count but I feel like I've eaten well too much...
i lost a half pound last week, and though every penny counts, I'd been so good, including exercise too which I am just trying to get back into.0 -

Yes, you have your normal 5-15 syns a day. Glad you're enjoying it
Sankey Welcome. You are well motivated which is good, but aim for 1 - 2 lbs a week rather than 2 then you won't be disappointed if some weeks are not so good and will be thrilled if they all go to plan :T
Delly I have children in my class, but as Honey says, take a colouring book (if DS is small) or ipod or something along so they don't get bored.
Busymum What about yoghurts - they're low fat, quick and easy and good for you. Use chopped fruit to dip or to pour yoghurt over to make it more filling and nutritious. Also, have you tried mixing garlic or other savoury flavourings with fromage frais or Quark to make a dip. You can then chop carrots, celery, cucumber etc to dip in it - yummy!!
BB Your 2005 books will be fine. The things that have changed are quite minor. If you make the most of free foods, you'll be fine. Anything you're not sure of, you can ask on here, someone is always around to help.
Fox Sorry to leave you till last, but your's is a little more complicated I think.
If you want to be 9st 3lbs instead of 9st 4½lbs (is that right?) it would be easiest to remain with your target as it is and simply choose to stay in the lower portion of your target range. Losing another 7lbs would take you to under 9 stones and into the 'underweight' range.
At 5'5" your lowest acceptable, healthy weight is 8st 8lbs, so you're not far above it at the mo. The chart shows that 9½ stone is smack in the centre of the 'healthy weight' range for your height. If you like yourself as you are and you feel that it would be easy to maintain, all I can say is -
Congratulations, you're a target member :T :T
Cheekymole You are too devious for me :rotfl: I really haven't come across that situation, so I'm not sure whether it would work or not!!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Thanks for the advice, Honey, Cheekymole and Consultant 31:T DS is almost 9 months old and I think he's a bit young yet to be going to class with me unless I only go for a weigh in. I've asked his Ya-ya (grandmother - but that's what she wants to be called!
) to keep him until after the class for me. He's usually in bed by 7 most nights and I don't want to deal with a tired & hungry baby when I'm trying to take in important information.
Welcome Sankey, Budget_barbie and busymumof3 - good luck with your weightloss, you'll get loads of support on here.
Fox - 4 STONE with your babies:eek: . Oh my goodness! you must have been so fed up when you were ready to deliver. I put on 2 stone (on top of the 4 stone I'd been overweight before I fell pregnant) and I was totally disgusted by the time I was giving birth and I went a week early! Good for you for taking it off again. I'm sure you'll be just as successful this time.
Pug - don't worry about thinking you're eating a lot. As long as you stick to the no count foods you'll be fine. I did the no count for my first week and lost 2lbs. A really good result when I was eating loads. The main reason why I'm quitting ww is because I need to change my lifestyle and ww is great if you want to keep certain foods in your diet. I've worked out that I'm the type of person who needs to create a no fail environment and WW allows me to cheat too much. I'm long on advice and motivation but short on discipline. Changing programmes for me will mean that I'll have to think about what I'm eating every day instead of saying "oh, I can have that, sure I'll just point it in" and then forget about it until Monday night's wi.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0
