Honey - if you've still got that rhubarb, I found a recipe that sounds really nice - strawberry and rhubarb compote. You've probably eaten the rhubarb by now, but if not, let me know and I'll post it for you.

Hey Lois I have some rhubarb in the fridge can you post the recipe please it sounds yummy.:T

From the Slimming World 'A Taste of Summer' recipe book.

Although the rhubarb can be cooked in a pan on top of the stove, it retains the shape and flavour better when cooked in a medium oven.

    Ingredients:
681g/1.5lb young pink rhubarb stalks (1.5 syns)
grated zest and juice of 1 orange (1 syn)
    artificial sweetener to tate
170g/6oz ripe strawberries, hulled (1.5 syns)
    mint leaves to decorate
very low fat natural yogurt, to serve

    1. Trim the rhubarb stalks and cut them into 2.5 cm/1in lengths. Place in an ovenproof dish with the orange zest and juice
    2. Cook in a preheated oven at 180C/350F, Gas Mark 4 for 20-30 minutes, until cooked and tender. Don't overcook the rhubarb or it will become mushy.
    3. Sweeten to tate with artificial sweetener and stir in the strawberries. Cool, decorate with mint and eat lukewarm with very low fat natural yogurt.

    Serves: 4
Syns per serving: 1 syn on Original and Green
    Preparation time: 10 minutes
    Cooking time:20-30 minutes

Following on from the theme of thought for the day last week, about childhood beliefs regarding food, I found this gem on an earlier Lose Weight thread. Thanks to Savvy Sue for this one.

We hate wasting food. But where is it wasted most, on my waist or in the waste bin?

    Morning all.

Julie- yeah, it was the farnborough one. I work nearby the airfield so we've been listening to the engines all week. It was great actually being there next to the runway and the weather was very clear on the day.

Total pain that i got burned. I put suncream on and everything but i don't go into the sun often enough to know how sensitive i am to it. This time i used factor 15 several times. Next time will be factor 30 many more times! Most of the pain has gone now but i'm still pink!

Am still obsessed with quark/yogurt combinations. Have managed to get through about 3 tubs of quark in the past few days. Think the boyfriend is getting worried! :D

I've read everyone's posts but can't remember what they all said :o so i'll offer the generic "well done" and "good lucks" for now. Have a great week all.

PS just remembered honey is moving - hope it's very stress free.

    Hi

I feel more positive than last week, and my IBS seems better than it has been. I'm hoping that doing the gardening later will help get that LB off on top of me sticking to WW.

Right I'm here. Had a bad weekend. Didn't sleep well because of the nosie from the nightclub down the road which got me very upset. I ate at my friend's on Saturday and Sunday and um, ate rather too much *looks guilty* the trouble is being with them made me feel more cheerful even though I ate far too much chocolate so in the long run I'm willing to sacrafice a bit of physical health for emotional health. Sorry chaps.

So I weighed myself today: I seem to have lost a pound, but then I was wearing lighter shoes so I don't know if it actually counts. I spose we'll see next week.

Best of luck with your house move Honey :-)

JenIttels, can I recommend Avon's after sun for your sun burn (I get the cooling spray one) I get bad sunburn just be looking at the weather forecast and I've found this one to be incredibly effective

    Lois, sympathy for your headache

JenPoptab, best of luck getting the pound off
