im back and hoping this time to stay on track. im at the docs on mon so will find out how much i have lost this month - probably a gain this month though. up until last month i was losing steadily. i had lost just over the stone but last month i stuck and stayed the same. better than a gain but i feel the gain is here now.

i was tryin to follow the sw regime cos i like it, but ive lost the passwords and cant get in to check my diary. for the last few weeks i have just watched what im eating but it has been hard going.

trying to get back on track now though and any help in here would be great.

    i'm so chuffed with myself!!

hubby took me out for tea last night, and i'm on ww no count.
i had a salad bar to start, with no bread roll, or yummy coleslaw, and just a small helping of reduced fat mayonaise.
    and for main
half a spit roast chicken with sweetcorn and a jacket spud with no butter.
i did have a small portion of sour cream and some bbq sauce.
but i feel i dd really well to avoid those chips, and the lovely bacon burgers, and the yummy garlic bread that hubby ordered
so hopefully my loss this week will reflect how good i was, otherwise i might cry!!!!
  • Thank you all so much for your kind words and advice - I'm only away on hols for a week but plan to enjoy it and not over indulge and then come back and rethink my strategy.

I'll check out WW and SW - I find counting calories easier than I thought it would be. I think I have a Rosemary Conley book somewhere so I'll try and dig that out and plan some meals.

I also plan to go to the gym more - I've been a bit lax in going as much as I could so hopefully a workout on the treadmill will help shift some pounds!!

Thanks again everyone for your comments and help, I almost sank into comfort eating but I'm not going to do that and will keep going - I know I will get there eventually!

    ;)

Thank you for the warm welcome I've gotten from the people on this great thread - it's really helped me to feel positive and take control again.

Dellybelly - congrats on getting into those pre-pregnancy trousers, I know how good that feels. Also, I'm going to take your advice and rejoin my WW class next Thursday.

Lois - Thanks for Thought of the Day. As a child I was told to 'eat up' and even now find it hard not to clear my plate even when I'm feeling full.

I took a call from my mum yesterday to say my Dad was unwell. Afterwards my immediate reaction was to reach for the Belgian chocolates. Instead I put them back in the fridge and had a WW bar and some grapes - a small but significant step in the right direction. I also resisted having cake to celebrate my friends birthday - instead I asked for a fruit tart and just ate the fruit!

I know I always lost weight when I planned my meals, tracked what I ate, drank lots of water and took a few walks so I'm trying to get back into those habits and routines.

Keep up the good work guys!

    Hi jujitsu
You are very welcome to join in.
I had a stone and a half to lose and lost is steadily over 3 months doing SW.
If you cut down on bad foods, exercise a bit and build it up gradually, you'll soon be a stone lighter.
Well done on giving up smoking by the way. Do you feel healthier yet? Took me a few months to feel the benefit but it will happen.
Keep healthy snacks like carrots celery etc in the fridge to nibble at when the going gets tough.
    Good luck

    Evening Everyone,

Well, my bad weekend turned into a bad week and to top it all my fridge broke after doing a big shop so a lot of stuff has gone off and went into the bin. I have been living on the stuff we had in the cuboard (yes, it is rubbish food) as it means getting off to the supermarket each day for fresh food and I haven't the time to be doing that. New fridge is omcing Sunday so we can get back on the wagon and go get some healthy food in.

I maintained my weight so nothing on or off but at least it was not on. I have lost 8lb in total since I started so could you please adjust the chart for me Lois.

Well done to everone, there have been some great losses on here this week and you all put me to shame.

Can I ask how everyone deals with PMT, one of my downfalls this week is needing to snack on savoury stuff that I have not been interested in for weeks but this week there has been more of a need than want, LOL.

    Hi blue_monkey

I crave anything during PMT and never resist - it's just not worth it for me and others around me! It lasts about 2 days then I really go to town on being extra good

My goodness, havent been on in a day and so many pages to read - phew!

Welcome to all the new folk - Tigerlily, Punky, Jujitsu - I'm sorry if I missed anyone out, its hard to remember if some folk are new or have posted before without trawling back through all the thead.

Nearlyrich Happy belated birthday Have a virtual :bdaycake: from me!
Fritha Wedding dresses - how exciting - when are you getting married - just so we all know and have time to lose some more weight before the big day :rotfl:
Delly Fab news about the jeans - way to go - you'll be in a size 10 in no time
JenpoptabGlad you had a good day at the palace - what a lovely treat

Bluemonkey PMT. I agree with cheekymole - its probably best to give into what you want and enjoy it, rather than sneak it and then feel guilty for doing so. I use my flexible syns for this purpose!

I've been especially good this week - my mum joined SW with me this week and I have been keeping her right and it seems to have rubbed off on me too - keeping my food diary included. OH thinks it's because I am competitive and dont want her to lose more than me - as if!! :rotfl: He knows me so well!
Thing is though I dont feel any lighter this week. Have had a mixture of red and green days this week which is something I don't normally do - I normally stick to green.
I'm going to make the curry sauce later and have it for dinner tomorrow night, mmm cant wait! Thanks Cheekymole and Consultant for the recipe. has anyone else tried it??
