What a great thread this is. Thanks to you I went along to a s.w class tonight instead of doing it all on line. Really good class too and got me all motivated again. Hopefully will get my head round it this week, will be pleased to get anything off!

Lois: You appear to have added me to the 2 pound club! gaaaahhh! I don't actually have any scales, but it's ok I can accept a challenge. I have to go to the Nurse on Monday morning so I shall ask her to weigh me and actually tell me what it is *gulp* then I'll have to go to Boots every week to weigh myself and then lie to you all about how much I've lost! ;-)

Hi Fritha - sorry, I'm obviously being on the over zealous side when updating the chart. If you're happy to weigh yourself at Boots every week that's great, but I can take you off again if you'd rather. Don't be tempted to buy yourself a set of bathroom scales instead though - it's so hard to resist jumping on them every day!

I made tandoori pork kebabs tonight with Garlic butter savoury rice (MMMM) green day for me for a change.

The pork was fillet, no fat and very tender, diced into chunks about 1" cubed, I added some tandoori powder to greek 0% fat yoghurt and seasoned with lemon juice and fresh coriander. I weighed my portion of the pork and I didn't feel hard done to it's amazing how much you get in a HE!!

Cooked on the cast iron griddle served with a huge salad and I am full! Liquid syns tonight, a nice Pinot Grigio.

Hi everybody - hope you've all had a good day.

I'm counting on a good weight loss this week. I know I shouldn't, but I've been weighing myself every day, and the diet seems to be taking effect at last - I'm not going to count my chickens until my 'official' weigh in on Monday, but I'm quietly confident. :)

Hi Punky, and welcome to the club. I'm sorry for your loss - comfort eating is understandable when you're going through upsetting or stressful situations, and you're doing the best thing by recognising what you're doing, so that you can get control.

Well done Nearlyrich - excellent result :T I can't believe you went 9 months without realising you could have carbs as a HE, but it may have had good results on the scales!

Hi Tigerlily - I can understand your frustrations with not losing weight in time for your holidays, but there's no need to be too hard on yourself - at least you tried. As everyone else has said, go off on your hols and have a fabulous time, then when you come back sign back into this thread and we'll give you as much support as we can. As others have also said, following a very restrictive diet sometimes confuses the body into thinking it is surviving a famine, which means it conserves more energy (fat) and slows down the metabolism. 2000 calories a day is what an average female needs to remain the same, so reducing that even by 100 calories a day should mean you lose weight, even if it's a small amount.

Rosemary Conley is a calorie based diet, so if you don't mind working out the calorie content of what you eat, you could try that. To start with, Rosemary Conley recommend a 2 week kick start diet which allows you 1200 calories a day, which I found quite low, and I was hungry all the time. After 2 weeks you go onto the main diet plan, which is 1500 calories a day.

I do recommend Slimming World, and I know lots of other regulars on this thread are following it very successfully. You have Red days and Green days and once you get to grips with what you can eat on either day, it's very simple. There are loads of foods that you can eat freely depending which day you're following, so you never need to feel hungry or deprived.

One of our regular posters - Consultant31 - is a Slimming World consultant, so we can get her advice and support too! :)

Moira - well done for sticking to the plan, and an even bigger well done for resisting temptation! It can feel great when you do that, as long as you don't feel deprived. I resisted the temptation to eat chocolate cake last weekend at my Mum's, but I did feel deprived until my OH told me that actually, it wasn't as nice as it looked. (I don't care if he was lying to make me feel better - it worked!)

I though I could have one HE like Weetabix for breakfast or potatoes with my tea, if I had 2 it would be from Syns.

This is a great thread everyone is doing well:j

The Healthy Extras really do make you rethink your eating habits - prior to doing SW I might have cereals for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch, plus potatoes with my main meal and probably toast as a snack in the evening. And that would have been two slices of bread from a large loaf each time, not the measured amount you're allowed as an HE.

Did you know that you can have a portion of cheese as a HeB on a green day? (Not a lot of people know that - lol.) There's a bit more flexibility with HeAs now as you can have 1 or 2, but when I started SW you could only have one, so the ability to add cheese to a baked potato for example, and still be able to have milk for cereals is quite an advantage.

    Hi guys,

Had a big long post typed but lost it all (don't know how!)....

the gist of it was - thanks for the support and the suggestion Moriacm, I'll ask my ww leader if she can do it in the next few weeks.. Well done on attending a sw class phoebe03cat.

Thanks for the thought for the day, Lois. It reminded me that having tea and bicci's after dinner is a leftover from my childhood I don't need to keep (must find alternatives - sugar free jelly etc.)

And and and... I had 3 good clothes moments in the past 2 days. I fitted into a pair of pre-pregnancy trousers:T I still need to tone up my rear end :rotfl: but they go over my thighs! I bought my first size 18 top from the regular size section of New Look since before I fell pregnant with DS and I have a pair of skinny jeans (size 20) that are now loose on me even when they're freshly washed.:j

So, even though I've had a few weeks of on/off/maintain... it looks like I still am losing inches.:T

Definitely motivation for an excellent weekend!
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

well done dellybelly, before you know it you'll be in even smaller skinny jeans.

Well the palace went well and I felt great in my lovely dress. I even had compliments from a man in a sandwich shop just near the palace!

I feel well motivated still, and am looking forward to my hols being a little less than I weigh now.
