    Hi Lois

I would like to join your 2lb club. I've been lurking around MSE for a while now, mostly on this board and Old Style. Everyone seems so friendly and supportive so I've finally plucked up the courage to post.

I've never been particularly slim mostly size 16/18. Three years ago I gave birth to my DS and was scared by the amount of weight I put on, I joined Weight Watchers and lost 3 1/2 stone, was wearing size 10/12 clothes and was fitter and healthier than I'd ever been.

I fell pregnant again, very happy that I was 2 1/2 stone lighter than when I last fell pregnant. Sadly I had a very late miscarriage in April and have just piled on the pounds from comfort eating ever since. I'm getting my life back to normal but have put on 2 stone and am desperately trying to get into the mindset that helped me to lose weight last time. I hope that with the support and encouragement from you and the other inspirational people on this thread I can gain control of my weight again a few pounds at a time.

Starting weight 12 stone - first target 2lb loss! Goals - drink more water, eat less bread and get walking again.

    Thank you, Punky

I'm stir crazy today as I have to wait in for the washing machine repair man. Tonight I'm making SW pizza, no syns. It is my second attempt. The base is made out of smash, I made it up quite creamy and used a spoon to flatten in in to a circle, nice and thin and avoid any lumps! You cook the base in the oven until brown. Later when it's cool I'm going to chargrill some veggies in the oven with fry light and top with my healthy extra B. Will let you know if it is delish. Hope this inspires someone.

Tigerlily: I think what happens when you really restrict your diet is that you body panics and goes into starvation mode so starts storing the food rather than burning it off. That'll be why your other diets didn't work. Like Cheekymole and Pug said have a lovely holiday then come back and start some kind of healthier eating thing (WW/SW whichever, I have no loyalites to either!) and it'll be grand.

Punky: So sorry to hear about your loss *much sympathy*but as cheeky mole said to me when I flung myself bodily at this thread "if you've done it once you know you can do it again." Comfort eating is my downfall too.

Lois: You appear to have added me to the 2 pound club! gaaaahhh! I don't actually have any scales, but it's ok I can accept a challenge. I have to go to the Nurse on Monday morning so I shall ask her to weigh me and actually tell me what it is *gulp* then I'll have to go to Boots every week to weigh myself and then lie to you all about how much I've lost! ;-)

P.S. my friend persuaded me to try on a wedding dress in a shop this week, my they are flattering! Only thing is I've got a bit over excited now (I've wasn't fussed before I thought I'd look like a barage balloon!) I've seen a gorgeous wedding dress on ebay, it's very tempting to buy it *wibble* must be strong....

I have a theory that you should learn something new everyday, I have been doing SW for about 9 months and I discovered yesterday that I can have 2 "carb" healthy extras on a red day. I have been "doing" myself!!!:rotfl:

Pizza was lush, I flipped the base during cooking, it was very crispy and not at all like Smash!

:hello: Welcome to the Thread Tigerlily and Punky. I have to agree with everyone else Tigerlily, give yourself a break, enjoy your holiday and start afresh when you come back. I agree with Pug, the support you get here really helps you to stick to your plan. I'd also advise joining a club because it's harder to achieve on your own but I think a weekly meeting isn't enough. That's where all the lovely peeps:T on this thread can help you get over a bad day (even a bad week in my case!) and get back on the straight and narrow.

Good luck with your goals guys, looking forward to seeing some losses !

[Bpug-in-a-bed[/B] well done on the 1.5lbs off....you're doing fantastic

Not such a good day today guys, I did manage to fill in a menu planner (starting from next week!) but forgot about today so OH has gotten us chinese takeaway:whistle: . I only ever eat boiled rice and less than 1/2 a portion so that won't be too bad. I'll stick to the sauce and veg and allow a generous portion of points to stay within my allowance for today, so I'm sure there'll be no damage done.

I must go onto the recipies thread and get some ideas for dinners....
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

I'd love to try this sauce - is the recipe in one of the SW books??

Here's the recipe. It can be poured over chicken, prawns or (for a totally green day) roasted veg. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do ;)

    Syn free curry sauce.

    1 Onion
    2 cloves Garlic
    1 tsp finely grated ginger
1tbsp hot or med curry powder
    400g tin chopped tomatoes
    57ml/2fl oz veg stock
    2 tbspn sweetener
57g/ 2oz natural yoghurt or fromage frais
    1tbspn chopped mint (optional)
    1 tbspn chopped coriander (optional)

Chop onions and crush garlic. Spray frying pan with fry light and place on heat - add onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for 1-2 mins before adding curry powder.
Stir and cook for another couple of mins then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock.
Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 mins.
Then blitz sauce in food processor or with hand blender, and return to heat. Heat gently then add yoghurt or fromage frais and herbs.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Hi folks another good day for me - yipee two days of sticking to the plan 100% a bit of a record for me. Really enjoyed my tea and the thought of that kept me going all day even though someone was handing out home made birthday cake today - I resisted but only just :rotfl:

Well done Nearlyrich on loosing 2lb and so cool that you have now found your carb healthy B's for red days.

Tigerlily - welcome. To try to loose a stone in 5 weeks is a bit ambitous so maybe your goals were a bit high. I too have tried every diet under the sun and now realise that I don't need to be on a diet but need a healthy eating plan of everything in moderation which allows me to have the foods I like. Like the others I think your best bet is to go on your hols have a good time and then look at Weight Watchers, Slimming World or Rosemary Conley and see which you think would fit in to your lifestyle best. Which ever route you choose we are all here to help and support you so good luck.

Punky - welcome also. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I had two within 6 months so I totally know where you are coming from re the comfort eating, but now you are part way there by knowing that you want to lose weight and you also know that you did it before. It wont take the pain away for you but it will make you feel happier about yourself and that's always a good thing. Any help and support you need just shout and there is always someone who can help.

Fritha - wow trying on wedding dresses that is so exciting - what a fab motivator. You will have to post a piccie when you get the one you want!!

DellyBelly - hiya - well sounds like you made sensible choices on your chinese and we all have to live our lives which includes treats. At least you have your menus for next week. Just a thought but have you asked at your meetings whether anyone has any menu plans they would like to share. We have just done this at my club, everyone wrote down one day and we copied them if it was one we fancied - great way to get some fresh ideas.

Anyway hope everyone else is having a good day/week - see ya soon.
