Can you work out the value of recipes? I know with ww you can type in the individual ingredients and it will give you a value and tot up the total? Thanks again for the redirection to this thread?

there is a syn calculator for items which aren't already there but I find that 20 calories is usually equal to 1 syn (I'm sure consultant31 might comment on this theory!)

Well I can't believe it. Obviously all of that dancing with "the Wiggles" on Saturday worked.I lost 3.5lbs this week. I wasn't expecting that! Anyway i'm sure it's going to slow off now. I'll be happy as already lots of positive comments from people.

Thanks to those who have wished me well for tomorrow, at least I feel better for the lbs I've lost and know I will feel good in my lovely dress. Just my luck the queen or someone at the top will no doubt have Poppy's on their outfit too.

Anyway hope we are all motivated this week to do really well.

    Ok, comment I will....:rotfl:

20 calories equalling 1 syn only works some of the time. If you use it for everything you will come unstuck, so take care ;)

Phoebe I am biased, but I don't think SW can be beaten (and I've done them all over the years). I keep saying it, but it's so true - SW isn't a diet, it's a healthy eating plan for all the family, for life. There's nothing you can't have and absolutely loads of luscious foods that you can fill yourself to bursting with (if you're that way inclined, lol). The web-site is good and the online syn calculator is excellent. Whatever you decide, good luck!

Loopy-Loo Have you seen the syn-free curry sauce? I don't know how it would be pointed for WW, but it's worth a try 'cos it's gorgeous....the best curry sauce outside a restaurant, yum!!!

Jenpoptab Have fun at the Palace - don't trip over the corgis :rotfl:

Thanks, Lois. I have outlook on my PC at work and I know exactly what you're talking about. I never would have thought of using it for a menu planner.. only appointments (I'm not always too good about thinking outside the box).I'll print off a copy tomorrow and start working on it.

Your version of my Nigella dish sounds gorgeous too. I might just try making up double portions and making a pasta dish for the following day (told you I wasn't too good at thinking outside the box)l:rotfl:

Well done on the 3.5lbs off Jenpoptab, thanks for the support & enjoy yourself at the palace tomorrow.

Phoebe03cat - I don't know about SW but I do know WW. I think if you already know the points system, it can't be beaten. You always know what you prefer to eat and can point it into your day. Also, you can decide if favourite foods are too high a price to pay and CHOOSE to leave them from your diet (rather than have them denied to you).

Loopy-loo73 - well done resisting the cakes and sticky buns.:T I don't know if I'd have had the will power to resist them if they were sitting in front of me. :A

Ems, don't worry about the past couple of weeks. I'm sure you'll get back on the wagon again.

I have to say though, I've had another good day today. I was in such a positive frame of mind all day and even resisted the totally tempting carrot cake in my favourite cafe and had a house salad (dressing on the side) and a fruit smoothie instead... how good am I:A

I do have an unforseen bbq ahead of me on Friday (weather permitting). I've already decided to talk to my friend and ask her what she plans to make. That way I can plan and point out what I'm going to eat and maybe bring along a few things that are free. (I'm still planning on going out for tea on Saturday night too - Ohh the pressure!)

I'll check in again tomorrow and make sure that my 100% week (so far) stays that way.

Well, my holiday finally caught up with me - I maintained this week.

I'm staying positive - I was a little naughty on Sunday - double syns, and less exercise last week. I am having a 100% week this week. It's gonna kill me - my scales are ****, so I'll underweigh HE in the hope that is closer to accurate! I stocked up on HIFI bars too. I didn't have any last week. Plus I need to see quack - no star week for ages - and am certain that's not helping. (Have PCOS so always been irregular - but in the past losing a stone has kicked them back in line!):o

Some very good losses - sorry too shattered after hard day at work to sit and type every name - but :T to you all.

Will try and post again Friday with an update on my 100% week!!!

I'd love to try this sauce - is the recipe in one of the SW books??
