That's fab news!!
Still in Brazil - getting fed up now but am flying home tomorrow. Yesterday and today have been quite good as diet days. BUT am being taken out for dinner tonight to an Italian restaurant -chants SW mantra of "tomato based sauces and NO garlic bread"!!!
Will WI on Thursday but not too hopeful as 2 days of this past week have been abismal! Must try harder!
Hello to all the new comers! We're not all bonkers just obsessed with food and exercise with good intentions that often go wrong!0 -
does anyone know if you do a mix to max day what you can snack on ie,
This morning brekkie was neutral.
lunch was green
tea was red
so now i'm feeling a bit peckish. can i snack on some free on green food, or free on red.
I have 4 syns left that i'm saving for my w/w choc mini roll. whilst watching csi.
but say i had my green lunch at 12 then at 2 i wanted some rice would that be ok. if at 6 I'm going to have a red tea?HOW MUCH ?0 -
Hi Alyssa-mae - you can snack on anything that is classed as a superfree food, which means they are free on both red and green days. Anything you snack on that isn't free on both days needs to be synned at the highest value, e.g. if you are doing mix2max and you have a slice of ham as a snack, although the ham is free on red, you need to count the syn value for green.
In your case I would say you need to count syns for the rice you had at 2, and it would need to be counted as though it was eaten on a red day.
Hope this helps,

Mix and match (or whatever it's called) is a complete mystery to me.
Have just about mastered green days!
Sorry I can't be more help - have you tried looking at the SW website?0 -
Evening
Had a good day again today - the cold is great for not wanting to eat much and when I do eat I want to eat healthily to get rid of it lol. Also drinking lots of hot lemon juice as I feel so dehydrated with being bunged up so all in all things are going well.
welcome to Lightattheendoftunnel and Freya I am sure you will enjoy this thread as everyone is very supportive no matter what plan you are following or how much you have to loose.
Alyssa fingers crossed for the SAS log. I am sure it will help.
Honey - well done on setting your target - only 8lb to go :T - you are doing so well. Good luck with the aerobics.
Eels - good luck with your 3lb to get under your next stone.
Anyway having another early night tonight - so speak tomorrow - good luck all.0 -
Glad you are feeling better Moira - think your cold germs have cybered their way to me cos I'm sniffling like a big sniffling thing at the minute!! Heading to the shower and an early night in bed myself.
Lois, that explanation of mix2max is spot on. I havent tried a mix2match day in ages, must get out the meal planner that consultant emailed me a while ago.
:hello: to Rachel in Brazil
Eels, good luck with the next few pounds -you can do it, I'm so impressed by all the exercise vids you do. Off to check ebay and amazon for some video/dvd exercise bargains!0 -
Hi all
Lois Lane has kindly allowed me to join you. I'm joining in on two of the diet forums on Martin's site, as I need all the motivation I can get! I just went onto a BMI calculator http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/ and I am at the wrong end of the overweight scale with a BMI of 29.3.
I am just looking to maintain my fat for the next two weeks until my exams are over. Usually at this time of year while I am revising, I pile on the most weight as I comfort eat. After monday week, I want to take off at least 35 pounds.
Well done to all of you who are losing weight. Your tips are inspirational. I have bought lots of 2 litre bottles of spring water and hope to turn my need to comfort eat into a need to comfort sip. I'm going to make some homemade houmous (Aldo style) and have plenty of carrots and cucumber ready just in case the sipping water doesn't satisfy my comfort eating while I study.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Lois your explanation makes perfect sense. Thanks very much. I've been reading and re reading the sw book and just couldn't grasp it. I think I may also try sucess express for a couple of day's as well. has anyone tried this?HOW MUCH ?0

alyssa-mae
I've just finished 2 success express days myself. I'm a weird case because I don't eat meat (or do red days clearly!) but my menu for the last two days (same both days for ease) has been
Breakfast: Banana, apple and muller light (all superfree)
Lunch: Small jacket potato (free on green) with loads of salad (superfree) and cheese (as HE).
Dinner: Shepherd's pie made with quorn mince and veg. The veg and quorn are superfree and the mashed potato free on green. If you serve it with even more veg then the 1/3 to 2/3 superfree works out really well. Use syns for stock and/or gravy.
Snacked on fruit and used some syns to share some crisps with OH. Most of my HE's got used by milk in coffee incidentally!!
I've tried it in the past quite successfully and I'm in a bit of a maintaining rut at the mo so I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for it to work this time.
Good luck!0 -
Welcome MissMoneypenny, you're joining a great thread! I know how bad studying is for the waistline ... that's what turned me from chubby into lardy ...
But you'll be much more focussed with all the help and support on here, so good luck!0
