Hi trinnylilac,
I have merged your thread with the long running lose weight thread on the I wanna board, where hopefully you'll get some answers and lots of support.

Back from a hectic day in Scotland - feeling quite proud of myself actually. Was in the business lounge at the airport by 5am and managed to resist all the nice free food except a diet coke. Then had a l"ovely" British Rail egg sandwich for lunch (as I came back home on the train). Was knackered after a long day and had supernoodles for tea (not fab I know but I do like them!) and a medium bunch of grapes shared with the dog and OH.
Been dog walking twice too.
Feel a bit flatter than I did a few days ago so that's encouraging .
Lots of good weight losses or only tiny gains since I last posted - everyone seems quite motivated this week after a bit of a sticky week last week.
I'm now 10 st 6lbs and 5' 5'' tall - so I think another half a stone will just about be OK for me - am a comfortable size 12 now but just want to be able to say I'm 9st something (even if it is 9st 13lbs!). Might even sneak into the occasional size 10!!
I have three and a half weeks before i go on hols to New York and would like to get rid of 5 lbs - hopefully its do-able.
Anyway, I have a lovely quiet day in the office tomorrow - so should be easier to be good.
Night night

Wow Delly I didn't realise childcare was so expensive  (comes of living 'oop North' I guess) - it's a helluva lump out of your income I imagine.
Good luck with the grocery challenge.
Consultant31 - my childcare costs are acutally reasonable.... you can expect to pay between £110 and £230 for a full time place for a baby in most places ... N. Ireland is a bit cheaper in that respect - DS's place is subsidised so we're getting it about £10 per week cheaper than other nursery's in our area.
As for the grocery challenge - we have Iceland, Tesco, Sainsbury, Lidl and the local Supervalu and Dunnes stores to shop from, I'm not too sure if Honey will agree but I think that the cost of groceries in Norn Iron are more expensive than "across the water", it's only really been with Asda coming over here that I've begun to find our grocery prices becoming a bit more reasonable.
Eels - thanks for the support, I really appreicate it. I'm glad that DS is going to a nursery in my workplace. It's much more convenient for me and I don't have to suck up to anyone anymore (was really sticking in my throat!) And you're right, I'm going to get loads of excercise pushing DS in the pram to the creche in the mornings - starting on 9th October!
Well done on the weightloss, Jen - have a great holiday!Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Oakdale, the scales go up to 18 stone 7lbs. They were only a few pounds I think, and I'm sure they're inaccurate but as long as I use the same ones weekly and my weight is going down instead of up I'm fine with that!
To Trinny, I'm not following RC's plan or attending the classes but I am using one of her DVDs and I am generally reducing my calorie and fat intake anyway, which are the principles she bases her diets on. I have found the exercise DVD really approachable and easy to use, and it's easy to just do a 10 minute slot if that's all there's time for. It really got me started and now I can do Davina as well (OH loves it when I say that :rotfl: ), so I exercise daily now. I've been a bit naughty and weighed myself midweek ... and I've lost my first whole stonehaving been overweight all my adult life. So yes, the DVD is good, and I imagine the class would be great for support too.
And WELL DONE rachel on getting so close to your goal - I'm sure you can manage 5lbs, I'll be cheering you on!0 -

Definitely 'do-able' Rachel, congratulations!
And I do envy your holiday to New Yorkhave a wonderful time!
Oakdale don't worry, you'll get there - forget the scales, use your clothes as a guide and perhaps use the scales in Boots once a month. I think jumping on the scales all the time adds too much pressure and stress to your life.
Eels I chuckled when I read your comment "that's an amazing figure" - thought you meant me for a mo :rotfl: :rotfl: You're right about the satisfaction of my SW job though, I really do love it.
How many of you drink your minimum 2 litres of water a day?
You can't include coffee or cola (or alcohol, lol) because of their diuretic qualities.
I finally convinced my members after they tried it for a week and one of them lost 2½ lbs after weeks of maintaining and some of the others had bigger losses than normal. Got to be worth a try, don't you think?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

LOL I smiled at that, If I ever get to that weight, I would be so deliriously happy
Not feeling top of the world today, all tired and a splitting headache, so I might go for a lie down, Hope you guys are all doing well.
Forgot to mention that I had my blood pressure and pulse taken on Tuesday while at the GP's My bp is 130/90 down from 150/108 and the resting pulse is 60 So very happy with that
Rachelmk, Im sure a person of your calibre will manage those last 5lbs, but hey if you miss the target before New York, dont worry, I sure you look great and feel fantastic :T I done New York once, had 22hrs between flights and fitted as much as I could in, I was top of the empire state at 9am! Very jealous of your travelling. Enjoy!
Honey, hope you feeling better, are you passing this lergy around?
Jenpoptab - Remember to enjoy the holiday :)well done on losing 1 1/2lbs
Oakdale_minx Funny how scales play games with us, There is a set of scales at the gym, which never seems to be consistent and even has a habit of not returning to zero once you step off them!
eels100, Good to see your lost a stone, are you reporting it lost to the Police, or dont you want to see it againFeeling good for it?
JenIttels - Hope you dont worry too much about the very slight gain, It seems you are motivated to right this. Keep going!

Consultant, sorry to ask the silly question, but is that 2 litres in addition to any coke, lemonade, flavoured water, tea, coffee, and water drank when training? I'd be in the loo all day if I drink that much :rolleyes:Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

Is this the sound of another challenge?Ok, I'm in. I definately dont drink enough (water that is
)and I think that contributes to the headaches I regularly get.
Oakdale - I agree with consultant - ditch the scales. I used to hop on and off them several times a day/week. Now I dont and I am much less stressed. How about good old fashioned tape measuring? That way you can see the inches come off and its very motivational.
Rachel - I'd love to go to NY -do you need a personal assistant :rotfl:
Suggs - think I still have whatever it is. I rang in sick today. I can't keep my eyes open. Gor kids off to school and went back to bed. Had to set my alarm for 11am to get up and make sure I am up for picking up DD. Me thinks she would like to watch a nice DVD while mummy snoozes again. Hope you feel a bit better. I think the stress of the past few months has caught up on me. Did I mention that we have taken the house off the market. What a relief.
Eels -well done on the first stone :T Good for you!
