    Hi all

Starting to feel a bit back to normal now so thats good. Had a day out yesterday with OH and the little one boat trip, then steam train then open top bus, good fun and a nice day so maybe just what I needed to cheer myself up although Suggs and Consultant have done that with their jokes too which made me laugh so much OH came to find out what I was laughing at!!

    Speak later

Glad you're feeling more normal Moira (though not sure what 'normal' is :rotfl: ). That sounds like a lovely day out, just what I would enjoy myself. I have a thing about boats and trains. I've always fancied doing that coast to coast American train jouney - wow it looks fantastic and I'd just love to sleep on a train!

Suggs You may have a way to go but with determination like yours, you'll definitely get there, sooner rather than later ;)

Hi folks, gosh you lot have been busy. Well done to Suggs (v jealous!) and Ciara and welcome back to Delly.

Too tired tonight for a long post - great weekend, too much wine, way too much food & not enough sleep. Will come back tomorrow when I am more human!

Not human - is this the original Honey Monster??
Glad you had a good weekend, and I didn't know there was such a thing as too much wine :rotfl:

  • Hi and welcome to this thread.
I'm sorry I can't help with your particular diet needs as I know nothing about the GI plan or RC, my big thing is Slimming World!! I Googled though and came up with http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/diet/gi_diet.htm - hope it'll be useful for you.
My daughter is undergoing tests for PCOS at the moment and is worried sick it'll mean she can't have children.

Thanks so much for the welcome and thanks for your help, I've done lots of searches for it just wanted to talk to a 'real person' now and get thier thoughts etc...

Please don't let your daughter worry, it might not mean that your daughter can't have children it may just make things a little more difficult for her... 1 in 10 women have PCOS, including Victoria Beckham! I have evry intention of having children and won;t be giving up easily! If your daughter needs any help or someone to talk to please get in touch, like I mentioned only been diagnosed this week but done lots of reading!
  • I'm back from Japan in one piece - just! Still on antibiotics and feeling a bit run down and ucky but have to keep going. After getting home late Friday night I went down to South Wales first thing Saturday morning to visit nan who is still in hospital after breaking her hip - I'm working again next weekend so it was the only chance I'll have for a while. Got back this afternoon and am now shattered!

Diet-wise I have no idea how it's gone as being away may well have thrown me into complete disaster. I didn't seem to eat very much but when you're not sure what it is you're eating let alone how many cals etc it has its a bit confusing!

Hope everyone has a better week next week - just been reading he last few days posts and we all seem to be in a bit of a grump!

Have had an Ok day today - banana, tomotoes on toast and then tin of soup and some grapes, so feel a bit better about getting back on track.
Have a meeting in Milton Keynes tomorrow but will be back at theusual time so homemade leek and potato soup planned for tea tomorrow. I love winter warming food!

Going to bed now to try to catch up on some sleep
    Take care
    Rachel.

    Hi,

I have just come across this thread after using the site for a while now... I was diagnosed with PCOS this week and intend on starting a GI diet plan as soon as I get my head round it... Has anyone any tips for me? I'm also considering joining a Rosemary Conley group - has anybody tried these?

Thanks so much in advance, looking forward to reading replies

Hi Flutterby, and welcome to the thread. I don't have any experience of PCOS but I can tell you about Rosemary Conley. I've been attending an RC class and following her low GI diet, which is quite simple - you can eat foods that are less than 5% fat, (with a few exceptions) and aim to make the majority of them low GI. When you first join RC, they recommend you follow their quick start diet for two weeks, which is 1200 calories a day - quite restrictive, but you can lose a few pounds. After the quick start, calories are increased to 1400 a day.

The main attraction to RC for me, is the fact that they incorporate exercise into their meetings, so you get a bit more for your money than a weigh in and a talk. I'm not knocking Slimming World or Weightwatchers when I say that, because the talks can be very motivating, but I've been to so many classes I've heard it all!

If you've got any questions, just ask. If you want to join the 2 pound club, let me know too - to find out more click here.

    Good luck.

    Hi all

The battery is about to go on my laptop, so just before it does, a quick hello to everyone.

Welcome back Rachel - have a good day in Milton Keynes tomorrow.

Delly - the Day One club is for anyone who's gone off the wagon and has made a decision to make a new start.

Suggs - bloomin' heck, 4lbs!! That's excellent, well done. :T Looks like you'll be regaining the SOTW sash this week.

Have a good week everyone, I'll be back tomorrow night to do this weeks 2 pound club update.

Hopefully this will hit the mark.

    Or this..............

Q: What do you have when your in-laws are covered in concrete up to their shoulders?

    A: Not enough concrete!

    Morning all
Just did my WI and to be honest I am pleased I have maintained. I did have a totally blib earlier this week and dispite being a member of the One Day Club it didn't get much better. Not even managed to get once to the gym although I did play golf Saturday. Off to Newcastle this afternoon, so lucky I am flying as it would be a long long drive with lots of temptations. Staying the whole week in York on conference so we will see how it goes.

  • Good morning each and every one :D

Thought I'd give the more 'mature' among us something to think about today:-

When I was in my younger days,
I weighed a few pounds less,
I needn't hold my tummy in
    to wear a belted dress.
But now that I am older,
    I've set my body free;
    There's comfort of elastic
Where once my waist would be.
    Inventor of those high-heeled shoes
    My feet have not forgiven;
I have to wear a nine now,
But used to wear a seven.
    And how about those pantyhose-
They're sized by weight, you see,
So how come when I put them on
The crotch is at my knees?
I need to wear these glasses
    As the print was getting smaller;
And it wasn't very long ago
I know that I was taller.
Though my hair has turned to grey
and my skin no longer fits,
On the inside, I'm the same old me,
Just the outside's changed a bit.

Nice to see you back Rachel. Glad you're feeling better.

Enjoy York Tallgirl, it's a beautiful city.

Suggs, do we take it the outlaws are fair game? Don't forget you may well be one eventually :rotfl:
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
