Now it makes sense to me, Suggs.:D
Well, I've gained one pound, not four. So it is not that bad.
It cannot be muscle, but well... I'll keep being as good as possible.
Must be that the cheese biscuits of old have caught up with me
I've already planned this week's meals, now I must fill my fridge with vegs.'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
Hey people,
Sorry to hear you're so down Madauri. Well done for being so determined though - have fun at the craft fair!
Jenpop Must have felt utterly wonderful in the clothes shop - I'm so jealous!
Lois. I've seen pictures from the Bellagio fountain weddings and they're so gorgeous. I believe you can even pick the particular song that you want the fountains to 'dance' to. It's much to far out of our price range otherwise I'd be there in a secondYour dinner sounds lovely btw. I'm not good with sweet potatoes as they're harder to peel than normal ones (and I'm lazy) but I love making syn free chips and crisps with them. They never last very long in our house!! 'Predominantly yellow' made me laugh. I seem to be having a series of red and white meals for some reason. Am I being patriotic?
Moira Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather too (and so sorry to hear about your brother). Well done for losing though. I put on 1lb this week after feeling so crummy.
Sorry if i've missed people out. I've been lurking but have no energy to spend too long here and can't remember what people have said. Have a good weekend everyone.0 -
PS Have been measuring ot my 250ml of ss-milk for the last couple of days and am, once again, surprised how much i get through (maybe 50ml per coffee but i've liked it quite milky since i started feeling rough).
Thank god this isn't a usual week (i don't drink so much coffee at work).
50ml per coffee is alot more than I thought i got through! Sheesh - I seem to be falling into every bad dieter's habit that there is these days!!0 -
Jeni - Ive been lurking a bit this week too - just can't seem to find 5 mins to post myself. Obviously not literally ....:rotfl:
Sorry to hear so may of us are down this week - hugs to all those who need one - Madauri, Faithless and Moira (sorry to hear about your brother) and any one I have missed
Jenpoptab - Clothes shopping takes on a whole new thrill when they actually fit, doesnt it. I had a similar experience myself this week. Well done!
Heading away now for the rest of the weekend with friends to their caravan ( no kids :j ). May have a few bottles of wine packedEels - the key to having the weekend off is to make sure you can go straight back on come Monday. I have the incentive of my birthday coming up in 4 weeks and want to have lost at least another 4lb by then. Do you have an incentive that will help you get back on track after the weekends?
Have a good weekend all, was going to say "Be Good" but as I dont intend to be I wont :rotfl: :rotfl:
Take care.0 -
Don't ask about the holiday... you really don't want to know. My only advice is NEVER EVER share an apartment with your in law's. Cyprus was beautiful but there was a serious lack of veg. It took us a week to find a place that sold decent fruit and veg and even then it wasn't the greatest... not a piece of lettuce in sight. Loads of spuds though!
Haven't a clue about my weight. I didn't even try to follow a plan - there was no point. I'll let you know when I get the courage to step on the scales. And as for the flu - managed to shake it off so I could enjoy the second week of my holiday, but then DS and OH caught it.
I haven't read all the posts yet (ten pages, I only got home at 12.30 last night!) but welcome everyone new, well done to everyone whose lost weight or maintained and comiserations to anyone who has gained... I'm right there with you.
Have a lovely weekend everyone, I'm really glad to be back home and into my usual routine.

Welcome back Dellybelly - how's the tan? Did you get chance to relax in the sun (if that's what you enjoy)?

Almost everyone seems a bit low at the moment - wonder if it's the darker nights coming in, it always depresses me!
Wecome back from the hols Delly, seems rude not to ask if you enjoyed it, but I always follow instructions, so I won't :rotfl:
Enjoy your break Honey, especially without the kids - hope it's relaxing!!
Anyway, I hope you all pick up soon, perhaps this'll raise a few smiles:-
A man is sitting reading his newspaper when the wife sneaks up behind him and whacks him on the head with a frying pan.
"What was that for?" he asks.
"That was for the piece of paper in your trouser pockets with the name Mary Ellen written on it," she replies.
"Don't be silly," he says, "Two weeks ago when I went to the races, it was the name of one of the horses I bet on."
She seems satisfied and at this, she apologizes.
Three days later he's again sitting in his chair reading when she nails him with an even bigger frying pan, knocking him out cold.
When he comes around, he asks again, "what was that for?"
She responded,
”Your bloody horse phoned."I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

LL
Lois,
I normally do enjoy relaxing in the sun (usually reading a book with factor 25 - 30 under an umbrella:beer:) but DS is only 10 months old and has red hair and blue eyes.... I didn't want him to get burned so we were both out of the sun mostly between 11 and 4. I was sick for the first week we were there and was more interested in the bed and air conditioning (when I didn't cough so much I threw up_pale_) than sunshine. The second week we hired a car and went to the Famagusta viewing point (a real waste) and tried to find the Troodos mountains but took a wrong turn and went up a really scary tiny mountain road and chickened out of going any further and turned back (was one of the few laughs we had when we were there). Other than that, I didn't really have much energy to do anything.... and we ran out of money on the second last day:o
Aiya Nappa and Cyprus are brillant - I would highly recommend them to anyone - just be aware of the prices in the local "supermarkets" - they're crippling. There's a large supermarket in Paralimni (sp) and you can get a bus there from the square in Aiya Nappa - make sure you find out how to get there within the first 2 days or you'll be paying way over the odds for basics. (£2.25cyp for 6 bottles of water - add 20% for Uk prices):shocked::shocked:
Basically, if I had been holidaying with DS and OH as well as my parents, I'd have had a brilliant holiday... holidaying with in laws was a NIGHTMARE!:mad::mad:... is this enough information to satisfy curiosity?Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
Hi all,
Not sure if I should say this, so I shall whisper it. Weighed in at Boots today, actually did it twice as I couldnt believe it. I lost 4lb since Monday :j In fact I just noticed ,looking at the print off, it is bang on 2kgs lost since Monday, I dont know why or how I haven't done anything special, in fact I may have eaten more, by way of salads and yogurtsRuins my theory a little!
I shall say welcome back Delly, from experience holidays with the 'out-laws' are bittersweet times. I still get on well with mine even after the divorce. I hope though the good times outweigh the bad
Honey enjoy the weekend off and the wine, red or white? please feel free to jump back on board on Monday. You too Eels if you plan to
Moira, I am sorry to hear about your brother, things like this are never nice to hear. my OH went through this a few years, before i met her, however all is fine now, just a scar on the leg to remind us. Good news to hear you lost some more though
Madauri, enjoy the craft fair on Sunday, fresh start tomorrow with lots of veg and posting on here methinks?
Jeni, faithless, I hope you feel better soon, it must be something in the air. I know this cant replace things, but I can offer hugs and reassurances?
Annie, Good luck with starting again on Monday, Is this another Day one club member??
Jenpoptab, so apart from the OH annoying you, remind us how good you felt in the shop again? That must of been a real good feeling
Lois I know exactley what you mean, not fair, people been able to stuff their faces and not put on a pound. I have three brothers, while at school their were all the runners at athletics, I was the thrower! Still I think I am annoying them at the momentBy the way the knee is still sore thanks
Consultant good idea, as well as guiding us with planning for meals and the the week ahead, sign off with a little joke to raise a smileSo heres mine............
"Q: What do you do if you miss your in-laws??
