    Evening all

The burning question for today is - why can men lose weight so easily? (present company excepted Suggs - you probably don't think it's easy!)

To spur me on, I challenged OH to a competition, a race to lose a stone the quickest, and in just two days, he managed to lose 2 pounds! I've been stuck for the last three weeks and he does it just like that.

When I started doing SW, OH was about 3 stone overweight, and decided to follow it with me - actually he didn't have a lot of choice, because I wasn't going to cook separate meals, but he did embrace the whole idea by cutting down on alcohol and snacks. He managed to lose 2 stone in 3 months - it just dropped off him, and he would often go off track, but just had to focus on the plan for a few days to lose whatever weight he gained.

I know it's not fair is it? I think the reason though is that men have a higher proportion of muscle in their bodies (albeit well hidden in some lol) and muscle burns up more calories!!

Have you tried having a complete shake-up of what you're eating? For instance, if you have cereal for breakfast every day, make a change and have a couple of boiled eggs or fruit and yoghurt. Try to change your HEs and have something you've never had before. Confusing the body as to what's coming next can have a beneficial effect on the way it metabolises the food. Also if you have bread, try cutting it out just for a week and see if it makes a difference - it did for me!

Well done JenP good for you :T
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Having a very boring day in the office, 7 sales reports to write up so temptation is very high to raid the fridge. Have just had home made soup for lunch so at least that was good after my dissaster start to the week. Hope you are all doing better, my cold is on the mend I think hope I haven't passed it on to any of you.

I went to a new exercise class today, and it was so confusing! She had different names for everything, and everything involved twirling in a circle. We even did grapevines in a circle! And now I feel dizzy

  • Been a bit 'bleugh' the last couple of days, not been particularly bad but not feeling quite as positive as I have done. Am very tired and needing a day off work, but won't be able to have one of those for another 8 days ... :(

Money's unbelievably tight too so I can't even cheer myself up with any yummy healthy treats ... I'd love a load of fresh fruits and salady bits but it's storecupboard tins all the way until next week. I think I need a day to myself to rediscover my motivation and feel in control again.

OK, sorry for the moan ... <slaps self around the chops> ... where's that boot?

Happy anniversary Honey, I hope you had a good night ;). Well done jenpoptab on a superb achievement - chop off the hair! Big cheers for oakdale_minx too, and hugs for rachel (been there, felt the pain, really sending you best wishes for recovery) and tallgirl (boredom is the dieter's doom!). And as for men losing weight faster - pfffffrrrrrt!

    Morning

Had a good food day yesterday. Was out doing detached youth work yesterday, so that meant 2 hours of walking. Then I had taken my meal to work at the youth club so i felt good for that.

Hope to have a straightforward weekend so should be able to stay on straight and narrow.

    Have a good weekend.
