Evening all. Had a lovely day today. Its our wedding anniversary. Made a nice dinner, complete with homemade chocolate cheesecake (not the low fat variety  ). Washed it down with several glasses of plonk and a few baileys. Totally un-slimming world but its only once a year. Tomorrow is another day!

Talk to you all tomorrow, off for an early night :kisses2: :happyhear

    Happy Anniversary :D

Why would that be? is Honey working out tonight?

    Happy Anniversary Honey

I had a long day, up at 5.30 drive to the office, 6 hour meeting, with lunch provided, I had some corn chips with the tomato dip, a triangle of a sandwich and some fruit. Got the the gym though. Got To drive to Theale, near Reading in the morning, not looking forward to the drive from MK, no good route.

Moiracm I actually had to think what was happening six months ago? I was playing rugby, Easter was coming so getting ready to go away. Clothes wise I am not sure, I remember that on New Years eve I went a bought a new pair of jeans as the current pair dont fit. That new pair is now in the wardrobe and the old pair is on right now, very loose fitting and onto hole five of the belt :o What were you upto six months ago? This prop thinks it is a long way till he becomes a tarty back ;)

Hope all is well with the haircut Consultant, I remember David Baddiel writing in the Mail on Sunday about losing weight, I think he was made a bet? When he had his hair cut, he weighed it :rotfl:

Hope your 'Big in Japan' Rachel, how did the cup a soup go down?

Right time for bed, have to be up early

While I can totally understand you wanting to lose a stone by then, I would feel like it was quite a tall order.
You're right. Maybe if I could lose enough for me to notice a difference. I'm a very impatient woman.
The plus side is I do bring in my own lunch (usually a tin of soup) and I have started cooking all my evening meals from scratch.
    The kids love it!!
Basically I have become a soldier when it comes to my meals.
A home-made smoothie in the morning, then gym(every other day), a piece of fruit, a bowl of soup and my evening meal.
if I feel naughty a glass or two of wine or a Gin mixer.
I started drinking a lot of green tea too(I don't take sugar). It's lovely.
Does anyone know if it has any weight-loss qualities?
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

    Morning all
Been away on business and god have I been a bad girl. First of all thanks to Lois for the chart and well done to all who lost weight in particular Caira and JenI. Rachael I admire your willpower when abroad I am just so bad when I am away from home. Well time to confess this is how bad it got on this trip to Plymouth.
Lunch Monday running late so no time to stop for sandwich on the way so the only option was to dive into a KFC (only thing near the place I was going) and have a Chicken Wrap. I did not eat all the chips to be fair and there was no way I could have waited until the end of my appoint to eat lunch as my blodsugar would have gone off.
Dinner Monday: No very hungry so thought I would go to Italian place for some soup. Soup was off so had the Carbonarra as feeling really rough with a cold (yes JenI I got it too). Then I had banoffi pie didn't really want it but...
Breakfast Tuesday: Poached egg on toast and cereal.
Lunch Tuesday: Finger buffet but only horrid sandwiches and quiche so the only thing nice was fish gourjons (deep fried) so so bad

Luckily I am now back home for the rest of the week so back on the good stuff and determined to leave more travelling time or take lunch with me. Just want to shift this cold and make myself feel better.

  • Tall Girl - the will power has completely deserted me today.

I do have a good excuse though - still in Japan and have just had to go to a Japanese hospital with blood in urine - not nice and it flipping hurts!!! Now have antibiotics and medicine but there's a Mister Donut next door to the hotel so of course my " feeling sorry for myself gene" took over and I ended up in there on auto pilot. Ended up having a lovely Chocolate filled donut - ate it in virtually 1 bite (big gob!)

I must say though that Japanese hospitals are fab! Within 5 mins of walking through the door I had seen a nurse who took a sample, and 2 mins later was with a doctor that spoke basic English and actually had my sample mounted on a microscope slide and a diagnosis (acute bladder and kidney infection - lovely!). Apparently, there's loads of white blood cells in my wee (I could have told them that though because its pink!) and the bacterial count is very high.
Was sent on my way with medicine and a bill for £50 (that work will pay hopefully) with an option to go back for free later in the week if it doesn't get better. Best treatment I have ever had when ill - I have BUPA cover at home through work and this was made to look shoddy in comparison.

Anyway, having scoffed the donut now want another one so have deliberately put my PJs on so I can't go back to the shop!

Hope everyone is doing OK today
    Take care
    Rachel.
  • Honey Happy anniversary. I hope you're up by now - did you sleep well????:rotfl:

Alyssa  are we really that close to Christmas? You're right though, a pound a week is very achievable, in fact, if we pulled out all the stops, we could probably get 1½ stones off by then. Who's up for the challenge?? Those who are already wearing sizes 10 or 12 need not apply ;)

Suggs the haircut was decidedly drastic - note to self "must stop gossiping with hairdresser when she has scissors in hand" :rotfl:

me4bargains green tea is full of antioxidants which are believed to block cancer, it is said to lower cholesterol and inhibit blood clots. Recent claims indicate that it can boost your metabolism which helps your body burn more calories :T
I bought the green tea leaves from Whittards, you only need a pinch in a teapot, so there's not much flavour, but it's refreshing.
Have you thought about making your own soups, rather than having tinned. You'd get so much more and you'd know exactly what went into it. Soups are so quick and easy to make and they're cheap too!

Rachel sounds as though you deserved your donut. I hope you're soon feeling better, but avoid the donut shop if you can, and don't beat yourself up about the one(s) you had!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Hiya, I usually do make my own soups when I can.
Last week, I made some sweet potato and chilli soup but my kids drank most of it!!
As most of my healthy food!

Me4bargains regarding the soup just make a really big batch surely they can get rid of that much. I make about 3 to 4 litre and freeze it in yoghurt pots (big ones). Leek and potato is also nice.
