Sorry, as Lois says, Men may find it easier to lose weight, but I dont ;) Maybe its muscle density? Maybe its some other obscure reason?? Eels whats with the pfffffrrrrrt! problems with wind? :p Monkeylugs should have the boot Eels, but in that persons absence, I can always take aim and fire :D Maybe you can join Lois, Tallgirl and Alyssa-mae in the 'Day One Club'

Anyway, had the scan yesterday, so just waiting to hear what the result is and if I need a small operation. I went to the gym as well yesterday, just to make sure it was sore.

Home today, trying to build a couple of quotes, children are here later and no rugby this weekend. Its an away match at Stow in the Wold, and I dont think its fair to drag three children all the way over there just for a rugby match.

Hope you all have a good day and Weekend.

  • I want to do a SW friendly white sauce. One I can then use with chicken and leeks. I always make tomato based sauces but want to do something different - as syn friendly as possible (obviously with the milk being an 'A' choice)

    thankyou!!

SW has a recipe for white sauce made with milk and a little corn flour. It is low in syns and works very well. Add a little chicken bovril to give it flavour.

  • Would I warm the milk and just add the cornflour (after mixing the cornflour with a little water). How many syns is cornflour? I'm guessing not many.

1 level tbsp = 3.5 syns both ways.
I can't find the recipe in which I saw it, but if I remember well the best way is diluting the cornflour in a little warm liquid and then add to the warm milk - not boiling. Yes, you have it right.

    Hit me.
I am so depressed now. It's my fault, I weighed myself the other night and was heavier. After the care I've had this week and the exercise and all.
If I had refrained myself and still were heavier tomorrow morning, at least I would have skipped two days of misery.

    Try this one:-
Crush 2 garlic cloves into 250ml semi skimmed milk and bring to the boil
Mix 14g of corn flour with a little water and add to milk and stir until the mixture thickens.
This makes 2 servings @ 1½ syns per serving (using milk as HE)

    OR:-
Try gently heating a mix of equal parts very low fat natural fromage frais & quark (with added garlic salt or puree) to make a creamy white sauce!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Not being a violent type, I find I cannot hit you - sorry :rotfl:

Please don't be depressed, these things happen. Have you tried drawing yourself a graph, so that you can see the over-all downward trend?
And don't forget to measure yourself too (bust, waist, hips & thighs) so that you can see how much you're toning up.

Ouffff... I tried to put on my best top today, one I bought recently to feel smart and comfy.
It didn't work. It's gone tight around the hips. I've felt all day as if I was Mr Michelin.
There seems to be no downward trend in me. It's all up or maintain. I'm quite fed up 'cause doctors say my tyroid works fine, but to lose weight I need to consume a maximum of 800 calories/day (and recover everything lost with interest the very moment I go over that, even slightly). Which is the reason why I stick to SW. I hate the idea of starving myself for nothing.
That's why I am OK-ish if at least I maintain.
