I've had my first weigh-in and lost 2.5lbs.
However, I can't help feeling disappointed
Don't be disappointed, that's a great loss! If you lose weight too quickly it's unlikely you'll manage to maintain the losses, so I'm sure it's best to lose a little at a time. Personally, I wouldn't aim for that much even, because I am just trying to very slowly change my habits (I'm trying to gradually fool myself into eating more like a normal person and less like a malnourished pig!). If I see ANY loss at all, be it one pound or 4 pounds, I'll be happy.

You've made a great start, and remember, if you're building muscle you're increasing your capacity to burn calories! :j

I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • i can see much better now and you all look slimmer :T It was kinda scary and rather uncomfortable but I'm really glad i've had it done. I've always carried around that 'fat girl with glasses' label with me from school so it has really boosted my confidence and made me more determined to lose the weight for good this time. Just got back from looking at some wedding pictures from March that were a real disaster for me - i was my best friends bridesmaid and I think I had a bit of a subconscious issue with it. She's absolute stunning and a tiny size 8 and i think that subconsciously i kinda said to myself, 'well you're gonna look lke a troll anyway so what does the weight matter?' Anyway, the pictures are awful. But I've come a long way since then and I'm really positive about making progress. I'm picking up loads of hints and tips on here and the recipes thread is particularly good.

Hope your daughters better now honey, sounds like a painful experience!

Little 'un is fine. Very robust little madam and totally non plussed about her battered and bruised face - in fact she is lavishing the attention as only a woman can do!! It certainly hasnt put her off - caught her trying to climb a tree in our garden earlier! I wish I had half of her energy!

Just had a treat of chinese - went for chicken and black bean sauce with boiled rice. I ate all the rice and half the chicken. I am stuffed. Sat here with the top botton of my jeans (size 12!!) undone  9 months ago I would have eaten the whole portion, plus prawn crackers! We went for a drink this afternoon, it was such a lovely day and this particular pub overlooks the beach were we had been playing with the kids. It was like the middle of summer sitting outside. Not holding out for fantastic weight loss this week but I have had really good day so far - one week off wont hurt.
Talking of weddings, I was looking at some of my wedding snaps earlier - a very slim size 10 me. I'm getting there - it was good motivation looking at them though.
Have a good evening everyone, catch up tomorrow.
    Safe travelling Rachel x

  • Just wanted to mention (as a change from me raving about Rosemary Conley!) that I did one of Davina's 30 minute workouts earlier. I had tried the interval training one a week back and found it too hard, but today I did the entire cardio-box one and I really, really enjoyed it, I could even feel the fat burning up - it was fab! Going to pay for it big time tomorrow, but thanks wholeheartedly to whoever recommended it, I can see me fitting this one in between Rosemary sessions!

Hope we are all doing well.

Mixed bag for me yesterday, the laptop is playing up, boots up fine, but can hardly see anything on the screen, thought the motherboard had gone, but reading up on it, sounds like an lcd inverter has failed, around £60 to fix.

Played rugby, won 20-10, got 10-0 up then pegged back to 10-10 and in the last few minutes scored, converted and penalty to win. Best news was - I scored the opening try :j first time I scored for a couple of years and then I lead the drive for my fellow prop to score the winner  The grin could not be wiped from my mouth :T It was so humid yesterday, my back came out in hives as well so odd. Anyway had to change quick and meet Lady suggs and her daughter to ferry them to Robbie Williams concert. Then back to rugby club for a celebratory diet coke or six!

Well Im going to finish some housework and then wonder down the gym, not as stiff as last week thankfully.

Hope you all have a nice relaxing day today.

  • Afternoon all.

Anyone know who it was who was talking about Curves gym a while ago? I could search but it's taking to long!

I'm going to join a local curves on Monday but it'd be nice to hear from someone who is already a member!
  • Hi everyone.
I went to my friends for dinner yesterday and like me she too is struggling with her weight so she made a delicious salmon and advocado salad.
But, I stumbled and fell when she brought out a cheese board for afters.
I just couldn't resist the brie on offer.
I'm dreading this week's weigh in.
Off to the gym I go every morning until Thursday!
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j
