I really really want to have laser eye surgery - am very jealous. DH has had it done and has had perfect vision ever since. recently I have been having problems with my contact lenses and its made me want to have it done more. How did you find it?
Maybe when I get to 10st DH will pay for me to have it done as a treat :rotfl: Yeah, right!
With regards to the house, any day now I am going to take a hockey stick to the for sale sign that is in my garden  Fed up
Up early today. Had DD in bed with me. She fell last night when she was out playing. She split her top lip - bottom teeth went through it, Chipped one of her top teeth and the other is wobbly. Cut her nose and forehead. She looks like she has done 10 rounds in a boxing ring but has lived to tell the tale :rotfl: Kids eh?0 -
Morning!
Hope everyone is feeling a bit better today - yesterday seemed to be a bummer for all of us. Mine started OK but went downhill rapidly when I had to go to the pub for lunch with one of the guys that works for me (his birthday) - they had no veggie option and I begrudingly had scampi (I will eat scampi and tuna in emergencies but prefer not to) - of course that came with chips - only ate half of them but scampi is deep fried and probably bug*ered up yesterdays diet.
Didn't want any tea as was still full so cooked some for OH and had some fruit later on and the teeniest slice of cold leftover pizza. Had an argument with OH and went to bed in a strop - all sorted out now though!
Today will be better I'm sure! Have already been for an hours walk in the park with the dog and have to go into town to the bank when I'm showered and presentable. Then have to clean house and do some ironing then pack my case for the Japan trip tomorrow. Not looking forward to the flight - not because of the 14 hours but because of the food - I used to take stuff with me but now with the restrictions on hand luggage I can't. I've bought cupasoups and cereal bars to take with me because eating in Japan is a complete nightmare for me - these are hidden in the suitcase! - but I'm sure I'll be starving and will eat some rubbish when I'm there out of desperation.
So today will have to be extra good to try to combat the evils of travel eating! Will be back on Friday evening and so will miss this weeks weigh in.
Have a good day - it's supposed to be sunny later so maybe that'll help lift the mood and inspire us into something a bit more energetic?
Take care

Thanks guys
Didn't sleep too well but feel good today.
Building is fine, not worrying me too much, just the realisation that it's 10% of our mortgage on top, but it will be a massive conservatory when we are finished!
Work was as expected, lots of tennagers walking the streets drinking. 2 weeks in a row we have called cctv room 'cos of problems in town. Only 1 more Fri on that project then I'm on hols and it finishes the Fri i go away!
Tabitha has stopped her whining today - thank goodness, just another 17 years to go if she leaves home at 18! LOL
Think the lady I took child to school for has realised it was just for this week and not permanent, if not she will know on Monday if she tries to drop him off.
Anyway within all of that playing on my mind and despite not sleeping well. I do feel great with my new weight. Still debating whether I should get my hair all chopped off, but I do love it long, I'm just so indecisive.
I have kept within my points this week and treated myself to a chip butty for tea- within my points, so after 4 hours of walking last night, as part of my job, I should have another loss. I can't see myself losing it if i survived yesterday.
Anyway all have a great weekend

Maintaining this week. Won't complain.
I hope next week will be better for everybody :j
Well, I'm off to do my mealplan & shopping list. I'll try to stay away from the PC for the rest of the day. Will I manage? Qui lo sa'...'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
Sounds like we are all feeling a bit better today, Rachael don't you just hate travelling on a Sunday for work - it feels like you have no weekend.
jenpoptab you jobs sounds really worthwhile I used to work for a local authority with the tenants and can just imagine what work you do. Outreach work is hard...the nearest I ever came were homevisits and that was bad enough sometimes.
I was quite good yesterday, had lunch in pub after I manage to find the guy I was meeting (I was at the wrong tupe station felt like an Idiot). I had chicken fajitas and only had 3 chips (honest) and the salad. Came home late on the train and had almost 3/4 of a botle of white wine but my dinnner was soup with 1 piece of toast.
Going to tackle the garden today to get it ready for winter, not booked any golf as no match on this weekend so should try to make it to the gym only managed once this week.

Tallgirl - weekend working is rubbish! Especially when you've worked all week too.
Jenpoptab - my conservatory was fab when it got finshed - just took ages to do - I know how you feel.
Have just boght a pair of combat trousers in the next size down and they fit - in fact they're a bit loose!
So motivation restored!
Just the house cleaning to go now - the joys of being female! OH can't understand why I'm cleaning when there's going to be no-one in the house for the next week- MEN!0 -
Hi, this is my 2nd post on this particular forum and I wanted to say thanks to everyone who gave advice concerning a so called 'friend'.
I've had my first weigh-in and lost 2.5lbs.
However, I can't help feeling disappointed because I really stuck to the points and went to the gym thrice that week.
A friend told me because I am doing a combination of weights and cardio my fat maybe turning into muscle so it might not show on the scales but I will tone up.
Is this true?
I'm not sure if I can do this, so tell me off if I can't.
I have an ebook full of WW recipes. Anyone who would like a copy would they be allowed to PM me?Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

Afternoon all,
Thanks to everyone for spurring me on.
Honey: I hope your little one is doing better today. I also contemplate laser surgery... especially after stepping on my glasses.. but its just carelessness on my part. Try not to despair to much about the house.
Me4Bargains:I'm also on WW (2nd time)and have been told a similar thing with regard to muscle gain by my trainer. My leader encouraged me to do more walking, cardio type exercises in the beginning weeks. When I had lost my 10% I started doing more weight training to do more toning and it seemed to work well.
RachelMK: Men never seem to understand about housework. I wonder how many points it adds up to?lol Have a good time in Japan.
Maudauri: Maintaining is much better than gaining... so well done!
Well I need to get my butt off the couch. I am determined to have a long walk this afternoon. So off to the do the weekly shop for 2 by foot. Hopefully it wont start raining. After doing a bit of meal planning for the week and some gardening. But wait... is that the sun I see? Have a good one!Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest. -Mark Twain

Aw (((Honey Junior))) poor little thing, I bet there were lots of tears. Are they baby teeth or grown-up ones?
Eels I think watering down fresh juice is a good idea - although it's healthy, there's a lot of calories in it. As for diet fizzy drinks, I have a glass every now and then and don't think it does any harm, but I'm with Lois, water can become an enjoyable habit, given a chance. I like mine warm (I know I'm odd) sometimes 'neat' and sometimes with a slice of lemon (depends if I'm feeling adventurous:rotfl: ) Have you tried mixing some herbs or spices (i.e. garlic puree) with quark to make a spread for Ryvita?
Welcome back KatiePC can you see me better nowMy son wanted laser eye surgery a few years ago, but there didn't seem to be a lot of long-term results around, so I talked him out of it. How do you feel about it now you've had it done?
Moira, I don't know about you having shocking will-power, I think it's normal to succumb to temptation (well, it is for me anyway). Only way to beat it is not to have the goodies to hand!!
Jenpoptab When the whining stops (around age 16) the worry starts  Trust me, you'll look back on these times with very fond memoriesOh, yummmmmmmmmm chip butties (dribbling now!!)
me4bargains Well done on the 2½lbs lost. Don't be disappointed, at that rate you'd lose over 4 stone in a year. And yes, you will tone up with the exercise, perhaps losing inches on weeks where you don't see lbs lost, so don't forget to measure yourself every month!
Have a good journey Rachel, take care!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
