Do you realise you're going to have strange dreams tonight involving red and blue blurs?

Its ok, once I take out my contact lenses everythings a blur anyway. I often wonder how, in my dreams I can see properly, when in real life I need specs or lenses. See, I need to get out more don't I!! I've obviously too much time to think about things - DH thinks I'm bonkers but apparently that was the initial attraction - gives him something to laugh about!

I used to make a dip using sour cream and half a packet of dried onion soup. I guess you could do the same with fromage frais or natural yogurt - I cant imagine the syn value of the soup would be too much... off to check it out.
As Arnie says - I'll be back!

Oh dear, I'm in that kiddy mood again tonight!

Edit: Tesco Soup in a Mug, French Onion, dried 15.5g sachet 2.5 syns on both days

    Hi all

Welcome Annie, and good luck. Would you like me to add you to the 2 pound club for next week? There's more information about it here.

Madauri - I know how you feel with your chocolate cravings - I had chocolate cake on my birthday, the first time I've had any for ages, and I've been craving chocolate ever since. I went into London by train today for a meeting, and there are so many places to buy chocolate, on the stations, in the underground, and there were chocolate biscuits available in the meeting, I managed to resist them all but I'm still craving it!

Suggs - in my capacity as a completely unknowledgable person when it comes to anything to do with muscles, I think you should see the physio, especially if he's a big muscular rugby type - but that probably doesn't do it for you ;)

I haven't done a thought for the day/week for a while but received the following from my Rosemary Conley consultant, and thought it might be of interest:

“How Japanese women stay slim and healthy!”

There are nine secrets and the first is eating lots of fish instead of meat. We recommend that you eat 2 lots of oily fish a week but you can have non oily fish as many times as you wish.

The second secret is soya as it is low in calories and fat but high in protein and it is linked to lower rates of breast cancer.

Third is plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables especially leafy greens and those in season.

Fourth is variety - Japanese women eat more than 100 different types of food.

The fifth secret is small portions, the Japanese eat tiny amounts compared to us and this is where the majority of us might go wrong. It is so easy to eat what is in front of you even if you have had enough. We then get into the habit of eating everything in sight even if we aren’t hungry!

The sixth secret is the way they cook, i.e steam, pan-grilled, simmered or stir fryed.

The seventh secret is power breakfasts, it is so important to have a good breakfast.

The eighth secret is treats - the Japanese have tiny ones instead of a huge pudding.

The ninth secret is informal exercise - they walk or cycle everywhere.

If we can incorporate a few of these secrets into our daily lives we could achieve great results.

To all those who describe the "Must Have Chocolate" moments, I feel your pain. I had a massive crash day when I ate the best part of an entire box of chocolates and then to add insult to injury I had a chinese (again). Oh, and some cider. :o

It's been really, really hard, cos my hob has been broken so no delicious homemade vegetable/lentil/pea soup for lunches. And we've had guests all weekend - which was lovely, because we don't see enough of them, but when combined with me working all weekend I didn't manage much by way of healthy food.

I have managed to do some exercise every morning though (bar today - I was kicked by a horse yesterday so have a sore leg ... :().

Thanks so much for the kind words, especially Lois. I'll hopefully have an undisturbed night, and will manage a sensible day tomorrow. My cooker should be fixed by the weekend so proper lunches next week!

Welcome Annie - you are in The Right Place - these guys are fab. I too have a long way to go, but since finding this thread I have been more focussed than ever before. Stick with us! :j
  • hi all.........after much soul searching and the need to hang my head in shame I am going to re-sign up to SW the MSE way. Two years ago I lost 4.5 stone of the 9 stone I needed to lose. And two years later it is all back on. My life is a mess and I'm hanging on by my teeth to committing to this.

Does anyone have this weeks password? I can't see it anywhere, but wonder if it is buried in the thread. I attended class last time and even ended up doing the weigh ins each week. I plateaued after 8 months and then fell off the wagon at an increasing speed.

Frightened to re-start because of the fear of failure. Frightened to bury my head in the sand for much longer because of how I feel generally.

I will be fine once I get going. I'm already planning mini targets.
  • Evening everyone,

What a busy day/evening on here. Had a good day today - had to stay in for a parcel arriving and made the most of it by thoroughly cleaning the house, in between playing at ghosts, dancing to the tweenies and colouring with my little one. Went for a good walk this afternoon once the parcel arrived and managed to keep myself busy all day so I didn't feel tempted to snack on 'bad' things.

Annie - welcome - the more the merrier. I am sure you will find loads of info and tips from your WW colleagues on this thread and the rest of us when you just need some general support.

Alyssa - well done on the 1lb loss.

Jenittels - well done on the planning and getting the flights and hotels booked for Vegas. Not long now - are you excited yet or just frantic lol Congrats on the weight loss 3.5lb that is excellent - more trousers falling off you now :T

Honey well done on resisting the cheesecake :A Interesting re your SW meeting discussion. It's true how many times do we think we have been good and then either maintain or put on at the scales and then think - well I did eat those leftover chicken nuggets and that bit of cake and those few crisps etc???? By the way the Rosemary Conley one that I do is 'Slim up and salsacise' cause I love dancing and the latin music lol

Tallgirl - like the sound of your 'dip' I may try that tomorrow as it would be a freebie on the SW diet. Can't recall if you are following a plan but on SW you could also have a bag of Ryvita Mini's as a healthy B for dipping. - OOOh starting to feel peckish now lol.

Suggs - Hope you are feeling better and if not I hope your physio can do the trick.

Madauri - oh that made me giggle - I could just see you stomping round the biscuit aisle searching for cheese biscuits and then hoarding them 'my precious'

Oakdale Minx - welcome - I am sure many of us have been where you have been many times before - loosing the weight and then piling it on again and more - I certainly know I have twice!! You will get as much support as you need here and we are a friendly crowd with no-one criticising just lots of support. You have already taken a big step in admitting you want to loose weight so be proud of yourself for that. Look forward to hearing how you are getting on. By the way the SW password is copyrighed so we aren't allowed to publish it or pass it on - sorry.

Apologies to anyone if I have missed you out - lots of posts today and its getting late lol - see you tomorrow
  • I substitute ginger beer for cider.

    Biscuits? What biscuits?
