Hey, thank you for reminding me... I've taken my frozen mince out to thaw so that tomorrow I'll leave the slow cooker on. For tomorrow's lunch I've roasted various vegs tonight - onions, mushrooms, peppers.'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0

Hello all
Well not such a good day for me today. Went to Costa Coffee for a snack/coffee with my little one today and got us a chocolate twist each as he ate mine the last time we were in there - guess what today he ate a quarter of his and didn't want the rest; so guess who ended up eating one and three quarters  I know I could have left it but I just couldn't a) justify it when I had paid £1.58 for it and b) I love them so much lol. Anyway decided that was my lunch and then had another long walk this afternoon so fingers crossed I haven't done too much damage.
Ciara - welcome - you will find a huge amount of support here whatever you need, be it a chat, kick up the bum or a hug. As Rachel says there is never a perfect moment to start your new regime so just go for it girl - we are behind you all the way.
Jenittel - well at least it wasn't a gain. I too find bread a big downfall and so hard to resist - I am afraid Ryvita and Nimble just don't do it for me. Chin up and good luck for next week, and have fun with your new scales.
Tallgirl - oh well three days without alcohol is cool. I gave up whilst pregnant as I used to have a couple of glasses most nights with dinner and then a few more at weekends lol three years later I still drink very little which is good in one respect but I get killer hangovers now with just two glasses of wine when I drink :rotfl:
Consultant - yep count me in - my worst time is in the evenings now as I have my tea about 430-5ish with the little one and then around 830-9 I am hungry again so reach for crisps, choccies etc - as I have often had a lot of fruit during teh day I don't fancy that again at night so I will look for some alternatives.
Jenpoptab - sorry re the 1/2lb gain but you sound like you are motivated and well done on getting back on track today. Good luck for next week.
Rachel - well done on the 2lb loss.
Hope everyone else is okay and doing fine.

Hi folks
Down 1lb this week - not great but better than up 1 !!0 -
thanks for your suggestions everyone, went to the Doc about this cough and was given an antibiotic (kind of necessary since I fly to Cyprus tomorrow night)
Went for my weigh in yesterday and I'd also had my dinner before I got weighed in so +0.5lbs this week. I don't really mind, I was so unwell I wasn't following any plan and wasn't expecting to have lost anyway.
Welcome to the thread Ciara and good luck - you'll get loads of great advice on here.
Back on the straight and narrow again tomorrow I think. I don't want to put weight on during my holiday so I'm getting myself back into the swing of things before I go and plan to stick to it whilst I'm away.
Have a great couple of weeks everyone, I'll probably not get the chance to check in again before I go (a mountain of ironing calls me and I haven't even started to pack in a vain hope that I won't have to go). but enjoy the sunshine that will inevitably appear once the dellybelly family exit the UK....:rotfl:

well done kat and Rachel for great losses! Jen and Delly - least the gains weren't more!
My plan so far (written down more for my benefit than to make interesting reading for you lot):
Thurs: SW weigh in. Will need to make something before i go to class so that i can just get the OH to pop it in the oven when i leave the class otherwise i'll snack when i get home! Also won't have time to exercise so may drag myself out for a walk at lunchtime.
Fri: No problems predicted!
Sat: Will probably be sorting out the loft etc all day so will make sure i've got something quick for lunch in otherwise i'll be tempted to grab a sarnie. Will try and get into town to buy digital scales.
Sun: Going to the pub so absolutely must check the menu for SW friendly dishes beforehand. Will also sit down and meal plan as have gotten out of the habit.
Mon:Must make lunch on sunday otherwise will be tempted by staff canteen
Tues: RC class so will have to make something before the class or get OH to make something.
Weds: Must go running before dinner as it's starting to get dark early in the evenings0 -
hi all
2 points under for yesterday, I'm saving for unforseen circumstances.
I didn't use my tracker last week & that obviously made all the difference, when I really thought about the amount of bread I ate it was horrendous!
Thanks for all your support, next week i'm determined to get at least 1 lb off!WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Just a quick post - will post properly later - wanted to catch Delly to say have a fab holiday!!0

JenIttels, that's a good-looking plan - well done :T
I'm sure you'll see a difference during the week - no more snatched snacks which don't fill you and make you really miserable when you think back later.
Keep us informed how it's working out
Delly, hope you have a brill holiday and come back fit as a flea!!
Katyk, 1lb is good - 1 a week amounts to 2 stone over a year :T
Jenpoptab, like your determination :T :TI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
is there a slimming world lasagne recepie using mince beef. I made the one with quorn but my husband and kids didn't like it. I loved it and had extra. he didn't like the sauce I made with the passata or the quorn.HOW MUCH ?0

Hi one and all,
Got weighed last night and I have lost 1 1/2 lbs! Yey!! I am now back where I was before all the boozy do's and the holidays, now I just need to continue going down not up!! (No rude comments if you're in one of your moods honey).
We had our meal at SW class last night, everyone was asked to bring something in that was either mini syn value or free, it was so great as you get loads of ideas, there was vegetable curry, ainsleys mediteranean cous cous (1/2 syn for 100g dried - it's gorgeous and can be done in a microwave for those of us stuck with that at work!). I made the summer fruit pavlova (2 syns) and there was crab pate, hoummus, pasta, fritata, meat loaf, ooh, it was just lovely! I wish we did that every week - our consultant gave us the recipe for her gorgeous lemon curd (syn free), OH MY GOODNESS how nice is that??? I'll post the recipe when I dig it out, but it is basically quark, lemon rind & juice, sweetener & fromage frais I think - Wow - that on top of the pavlova was lovely, but also on the Krisp rolls - yum! :T
I am going to a wedding on Saturday so planning (as per Consultant31 idea!!) to have low/no syn days for the rest of the week and just have fun on Saturday. I am also plannign Davina workout tonight, gym tomorrow, run on Saturday morning and gym (if the hangovers not too bad!) Sunday before my husband goes off the play golf. Gym Monday and Tuesday and then weigh in on Wednesday where hopefully a loss or a maintain will be there!! My weekness is picking at the kids leftovers, so I have made them syn free paella from the new booklet we got last week, that way at least it's not damaging! They wolfed the lot, although my eldest did ask why it had to have soooooo many vegetables in it!!
Hope everyone has a good week and enjoys the nicer weather! :jMisguided maybe, but never really bad!! :A0
