I was really up for working hard at diet and exercise this week now my exam is over, but I kinda feel like I should just give up and resign myself to being fat and slobby forever.
Well done with the offers on the house, honey - I really hope you succeed in selling. I have only just bought my first house so I feel your pain - the whole process is such a drag, isn't it!? Oh, and well done for your continued good losses!
You made me laugh Tallgirl, I too regard myself as saintly if I manage not to drink wine ... my biggest vice ...
Has anyone heard from rachel? I hope her gran's on the mend0 -
Hello!!!
Thanks for all of the lovely comments about my nan. She came through the op OK but is still a bit confused and wobbly and hasn't been out of bed yet.
Diet wise the past two days have been OK as OH is away again and I have no distraction. Weigh in tomorrow but not very hopeful - unless stress does you good in the fat stakes!
Faithless - I had the same experience on my mums scales on Sunday - why are we compelled to get on them? I'm just going to go by the SW ones - will be wearing my lightest clothes to WI! Anyone done it in their knickers in class??
Going to walk the dog now - 3rd time today - may distract me from the cupboard of OH's nice stuff that's calling me!
Rachel. xx0 -
Evening all
Monkeylugs - congrats on being slimmer of the week :T
QT: comiserations on the 2lb gain but as Jenittels says its easier to loose 2lb than a stone so keep going plus you know why it happened which is easier to deal with. Fingers crossed for next week.
Tallgirl - glad your meeting went ok with your Big Boss (assume you mean in heirarchy and not size :rotfl: )
Jenpoptab hope your weigh in was ok.
Honey funny you should say about your goal in October as its my birthday at the beginning of October and I too have a mental note of what I would like to be for that. Another 4.5 lb would make it 2stone I have lost since January but ideally I would like it to be 7.5lb which would bring me half way down the next stone bracket. 6 weeks to go to my birthday so doable I think. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Oh and good luck with the house - 2 offers oooh let them fight and get your price up !!
Suggs I am now in suspence waiting to see how much you have lost at your next weigh - like waiting for Noway's result in the Eurovision
Faithless - hugs honey. Don't give up. One piece of advice always weigh yourself on teh same scales, in the same place, at the same time on the same day of the week, wearing the same clothes and ignore any other scales. That way you will get a more accurate picture of how your are doing. If you doubt yoiur own scales accuracy weigh in somewhere like boots or your local sports centre.
Alyssa - well done on losing the 1/2lb. And you are so brave going on that walk with three toddlers. I have one 2 year old and the most adventurous we get is a walk along the river Dart on dartmoor!!
Rachel - glad to hear your Nan's op went ok and I am sure she will be wobbly for a few days yet. Have to say not been weighed at slimming world in my knickers but now I am weighing in myself at home on Friday mornings I dont wear anything lol (lucky neighbours :rotfl: ) By the way have you noticed if your dogs legs are getting any shorter with all the extra walks??
Had a good day today so feeling fairly confident about my weigh in on Friday (close those curtains lol). Another busy day planned for tomorrow to keep me away from temptation and hopefully a nice walk along the beach with the little one.
Speak soon

Hi all
I joined WW last summer and lost 17pds by Xmas... then I found out I was preggers... but it wasnt to be. I have gained almost all of it back. After reading some of your posts you have inspired me to start again. I really did enjoy WW and felt quite motivated. However, should I wait until after my "monthly cycle" to start? Or does it not matter?
Just weighed myself... Im at 12st 3lbs and would like to get back to 11 stone eventually 10 and half. My local meeting in Thursday. Hopefully it will again reinspire me.Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest. -Mark Twain

Welcome Ciara and Good luck! I dont think it matters when you start, as long as you are motivated (which you sound like you are) you should do just fine. Set yourself mini targets - eg to lose 4lb by ....date etc.
If you need any advice, motivation or a good old kick up the backside just holler - there's always someone around willing and able to help.0 -
Hi Ciara
I'd just bite teh bullet and go to the next meeting - there never seems to be a good time and if you get weighed this week with PMT bloat etc by next week you'll have lost the bloat and some extra weight and be really motivated to carry on.
Just my warped view of weight loss!!
Welcome !0 -
Argh. Maintained again this week  (well actually put on 0.2lbs but i think it's ridiculous that my new RC class records every 0.1lb anyway). Am utterly fed up of not losing and am once again determined to do better. I only hope that the determination lasts all week this time
Plan:
-Be an angel. :A No more snacking on cheese etc before bed even if I feel like i deserve it as I've only used one of my HEAs that day. I never weigh it and am sure i overestimate how much i can have. Fruit and yogurts as snacks only!
-Lay off bread for a week. Maybe the change will shock my system into losing something this week. Bread is very moreish at the moment and as my willpower is low it's just not good for me to even have one piece.
It should be a better week as i'm not out and about as much so more time for cooking!
Did anyone see the SW featured recipe on the website for 'cucumber sanwiches without bread'? Basically you chop a cucumber in half length wise, scoop and the middle bit, mix the middle bit with a filling like quark and then use the cucumber skin as the bread and the cuc/quark as the filling. The website explains it better but i might give it a go and see if i can fool myself into thinking it's an actual sandwich!0 -
:rotfl: :rotfl: It would take me to be totally paraletic to convince myself that it was a proper sandwich :rotfl:
I cant believe your class weighs you in 0.1lb either
Last week I bought new digital scales (reduced in tesco to approx £6-7). I weighed everything (newly fangled) and I lost 3lb, I was DEFINATELY overestimating on my healthy extras JenI. Why dont you try measuring and weighing this week and see how is goes?0 -
JenItles I agree with Honey about the sandwich maybe if I was from Mars it could belive it. I think I would prefer the cucumber in sticks dipped in the quark (perhaps with a few herbs mixed in).
Regarding the scales discussion yes why do we always use other peoples scales if we get a chance. When we had our diet club at work we used my electronic ones for quite a while. Once we had enogh money in the kitty we bought a new electronic set for the office specifically. Unfortuantely they weighed us all about 2lb more so for a while we had two sets before we went back to the ones that showed the best results. Silly really.
Recording 0.1lb does sound a bit off luckily my scales doesn't do that unless you are under 10st something I will never be so not worried.
Moira hoped you enjoyed the walk on the beach yesterday it was such a lovely day here. Sat out in the garden with the big boss and by the way she is overweight also one of the directors of the company.
Fell back on the wine last night - I did myself an injustive on my last posting as I did not have a drink Saturday so in total 3 days without a drink. Will try to limit myself to weekends only or in weekdays maybe just have one glass although that is the hardest. A friend of mine is doing WW and she finds she can drink less now as she has vitually stopped drinking while on her diet. I could do with some of that. I was good though to stay off the crips although the house is littered with them.
Anyway must get off now, have a work meeting at 1pm and need to be at the golf club for 5.30pm and then travelling down to Exeter tonight - really sad me will be stuck in a travel lodge on the M5 tonight. What a glamourous life hey.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Cheers guys.
I'm going to get me some of them digital scales as our mechanical ones are a bit carp and I accidentally melted a hole in the bowl  when i was pouring hot fat into it a while ago (not fat for me you understand!!).
From now on weighing stuff will be a pleasure not a chore0
