Never mind, will keep plugging away!
Oh Eels, How many takeaways did you have :rotfl: I'm sure if you follow a plan (don't know if it's SW that you do) 100% for a week, you'll see a really great loss - hope so anyway!
Monkeylugs I'm really pleased for you, your weight loss is great.
For anyone who hasn't yet started SW, this doesn't in any way, point to SW not being effective, but sometimes a shake-up is needed to get the body moving again after a prolonged period on a particular plan.
Ted That's a very interesting post and well worth looking into to, I'll certainly try it, though I do believe I get my quota of vit C with all the fruit I eat. It's not possible to have too much is it?
Tallgirl and Madauri - down with the demon booze :rotfl:
Welcome back from your holiday Moira hope you had a good 'un!
Lois Thanks for the info about the DVD.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Never eaten so much fruit and veg in my whole life as I do now since joining weight watchers. I think its definately giving my losses a boost.
Speaking of which...lost 2lbs this week after moaning about my half a pound last week.
:j
Pug senior put on a half after a night out, BUT it clearly meant nothing as we were outside the newsagents this morning about to get in the car, when his trousers fell down about his ankles ... a sure sign he is losing! :rotfl:
My childhood is peppered with incidents of dad's trousers falling down, as he was always on various diets and that meant they were working!
In the garden centre, in wh smiths, in sainsburys, petrol forecourt, you name it, they've fallen down in it

[/SIZE]I stressed earlier the importance of spreading your fruit/veg intake through the day. While it is virtually impossible to eat too much fruit/veg you could be mislead into taking your daily quota in one meal. Say you had a large fruit salad for breakfast the vitamin c content of that meal would have plummeted by lunchtime and by evening there would be little or none left to act as an antioxident. We are as stupid as Guinea Pigs in not making out own supply as and when we need it. So rather than a large fruit salad for breakfast as you only or main fruit intake for the day, eating portions of fruit throughout the day will be far more effective. I'm also concerned that the juice drinks which claim to be 2 portions of your fruit allowance in one glass are somewhat misleading as your digestive system would have a sudden hit of vit c and half an hour later it's value is only 50%
and half an hour later it's 75% gone
and half an hour later it's down to 87.5% gone
so you see how you really need another imput every 2hrs rather than a mega hit once a day and eating your fruit whole is going to make it last and be beneficial for a far longer time.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

LMAO. Buy that man a belt!
My trousers fell down once when i was walking from the lounge to the kitchen with stuff in both hands (thus rendering me incapable of pulling them up) and my flatmate was in the lounge. He didn't say anything about it so i'm hoping he was too engrosed with the tv to notice but if he looked up he would have got an eyeful of some serious granny pants.
Well done on losing 2, pug!0 -
Eels100 wrote:jenpoptab, I really hope you don't let feeling guilty about being off work stop you enjoying your camping trip. It sounds like you do a very worthwhile job, and you definitely deserve a time-out with your family. I am sure everyone will get into the spirit of it when you're there - have fun!
Hi guys and gals
back from camping at 10.30am this morning, day 1- I got a migraine and had a bad asthma attack, forgot my inhaler so had to ask at peoples pitches to see if they had a spare- luckily someone did, not sure if this was because I felt bad about not working, not like I'm getting paid for it anyway.
Had no sleep first night, never seem to relax on first night away, plus head so thumping and felt sick because of it.
Didn't stray too far off the WW path. Had good intentions of Jacket Potato, but burnt them on the campfire, ended up with chip butty instead.
Anyway fingers crossed for a stay the same or loss again this week.
Ps, honey 28- doesn't it feel great getting a 12, well done girl!
pug in a bed- also well done with the loss, and to all the others who have done well.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
Evening all
Thanks to everyone for posting their results early, well done to everyone who lost this week and commiserations to the rest of us (yes me included). The words 'must try harder' come to mind, probably permanently inscribed there from the amount of times it was written in my school reports - lol.
Slimmer of the week is Monkeylugs with an impressive 4.75 lb loss - well done :T
This week, I'm going to be mainly eating healthily and getting lots of exercise - I plan to get some relaxation in as well!
Have a good week everyone!

Hi,
Had a bit of bad news yesterday afternoon - my gran fell over (she's 87) and has managed to break her hip and femur! Anyway, dashed back home to Wales at 6am today (nearly a 4 hour drive), saw her in the hospital, went to see my mum and dad - who insisted on taking me out for lunch to a pub that had no veggie option and only 1 fish dish (that I had but was yukky, so managed to leave at least half of it, and only had about half of the chips that came with it).
Another 4 hour drive home followed to be back in time for work tomorrow morning and then - the only good bit of the day - an hour long walk with my pooch.
Still feel fatter than last week but will have 3 days of trying really hard between now and weigh in - just half a lb would make me happy after the past week!!
Calves and stomach atill killing me after gym session yesterday so it must have done some good?!?
Back in a routine tomorrow I hope - in the office all week - only 1 client lunch and OH away until Thursday so can get on with eating "my good stuff" without temptation or distraction!
Good luck to everyone on the start of the new week ,

monkeylugs wrote:Yay!!! 1 week since I stopped following Slimming World, and re-started calorie counting, and I've lost 4.75lbs!!
This takes me down to the next stone bracket!!
This also means I no longer have "three-and-a-bit" stones to lose, but down to "two-stone-something"
I am very happy and motivated!!
Monkeylugs - As I hand over the 'slimmers jersey' :j Congratulations, Well Done and keep it up! :TProud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

Sorry to hear about your Gran, it's such a shock to the system at that age - well, at any age really. Hope she's on the mend soon.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Sorry to hear about your gran Rachel - you are lucky to still have her - I lost all of mine before I made it to my teens.
Had a chinese on Sat but didnt eat all of it. Went out for dinner last night and had grilled fish and salad - how angelic am I!! :A
Weigh in tonight. This afternoon I am going for an induction at a womens only gym - similar to curves - aren't I dynamic. I have a bad back so the "normal" gym doesnt suit me, I am hoping this one will work out. I'm quite nervous about donning the tracksuit and going but excited at the same time.
As far as I know they weigh and measure you so you can see the improvements. I will let you know how I get on.0
