Well, the back brakes were so bad they broke one of the callipers trying to bash the pad out of it, taking the final bil to ..... (drum roll) ... £900!
I'm trying to avoid comfort eating, really I am - caved in to a bagel and low-fat soft cheese when I got in after that one, and then followed it up with a Sveltesse. So it could have been a lot worse.
I did manage a good stint of Rosemary Conley DVD this morning though, it's fab! I really, really think I might stick this one out, it's exciting!0 -

Chop suey with noodles is around5½ on green. On the whole, Chinese is better than Indian syn-wise.
I'm realy pleased for you, the compliments should ensure you keep motivated :T

Hi Consultant - thanks for the boot!
I'm sure Eels won't mind me jumping in to answer this question, as I suggested she get this DVD - it's Rosemary Conley's Five Day Fatburner - there's a link to it here.
It consists of three mini workouts, and you can either do one each day, or all three at once for extra fat burning. There are also sections on problem areas such as bottom, hips, thighs, and tummy.
The only downside to the DVD is that I get fed up of hearing about the success stories of the people in it - I know all their names and how much weight they've lost, I've heard it so often. That's not to take anything away from their achievement, they've all done really well, but as far as the DVD goes, it might have been better to have acknowledged them all in a separate section at the beginning or the end!

p.s. Honey - well done for getting into a size 12 - you're an inspiration :TStart BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.30 -
Hi just trawled back through the last two weeks posts whilst I have been away, 21 pages wow you have been busy.
Congratulations to all who have lost both pounds, kilos and inches - lots getting into smaller clothes sizes which is fab to see - its a great feeling isn't it. I got a couple of bits when I was away in the next size down and it was really motivating.
Had a good couple of days so far and have gone back to doing what I was doing just before I went on my hols and planning just one day in advance, so keeping my fingers crossed it continues to work. Have bought the new Slimming World mag to keep me on track - some fabulous recipies and with a day like today (more winter than later summer - brrrrrrr) they looked extremely appetising.
Also had a very energetic day today as OH took the little one to see his parents so I was able to catch up on ironing and I managed to clean the attic windows which are 4 big dormers inside and out (phew) plus other housework that I wanted to get done before going back to work on Monday.
Anyway hope you all have had a good Saturday and enjoy tomorrow.

Just to let Lois know of the my result for the 2lb club, not great I have put on 1lb.
Iti s my own fault - I have been slack, a cake here, a cake there and a full roast dinner last night with lots of wine. Anyway off to play golf today it is windy and raining so really horrid but will do my best to motivate myself to get out there. Have to drive up to Lincs tonight for a meeting tomorrow morning which is also annoying but heyho. Sorry to sound so down, hope you all have a nice Sunday.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Oh well, another version of what TallGirl says here. I prepared my syn-free prawn curry and it was a success... then I spoilt it all with booze. Since I rarely drink, I could just say they're elastic syns... oh sorry, I meant flexible syns. But I've been so bad the rest of the week that won't work.

Yay!!! 1 week since I stopped following Slimming World, and re-started calorie counting, and I've lost 4.75lbs!!
This takes me down to the next stone bracket!!
This also means I no longer have "three-and-a-bit" stones to lose, but down to "two-stone-something"
I am very happy and motivated!!April 2006 - £9790.26dr. DFD - March 20110 -
I am just the same as when I got back from our weekend away - boo hiss to chinese takeaways!
Never mind, will keep plugging away!0 -
In a previous contribution to this thread I pointed to some research showing how increasing Omega 3 consumption, combined with a modest exercise program lead to a higher fat metabolism rate so the people on omega 3+ exercise lost more weight than any of the other trial permutaions.
In the same vein This research points to Low Vitamin C status as also being implicated in poor fat metabolism.
I'm sure you all know the importance of eating plenty of fruit and veg, important sources of vitamin C and ones which present vitamin c in a slow release form. You may not be aware that SLOW RELEASE is a vital aspect of Vitamin C intake, unlike clever, successful animals like rats and rabbits who make their own vitamin C, as well as eating it, humans cannot make their own Vit C so you need to either use supplements or eat a lot of good vitamin C source foods. If you use the Supplement route don't forget the importance of Slow or Staged Release. Once the vitamin C is in your blood stream it's hlaf life is a mere 30 minutes. So there is no point in taking large doses infrequently, your body needs it spread throughout the day/night so if you want to use vitamin c to improve your fat metabolism rate, a 3 grams spread through the day taking one 8hr 1g tablet every 8hrs would be more effective than taking 3g in the morning and having the half life diminish it's effect by 50% every half hour. You could of course get round the extra cost of time release by splitting each of your 1g Vit C tablets into 4 and spacing the 12 quarters as evenly through the day as you can manage. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
