    Hi everyone,
Have been reading everyones post, keep up the good work......

Am not doing too bad myself for saying, but have a small question to ask...... When you go away on holiday, do people still be careful of forget about it until they come back?

It's entirely up to you, BUT (and it's a big but - oops, pardon the unintentional pun :rotfl: ) if you go away and forget everything you've been putting into practice, you're going to come home to a fairly big weight gain. This can be very demoralising and getting back on track as soon as you get back is often easier said than done!
I suggest you enjoy your hols, but try to keep an eye on what you eat. Don't deny yourself an ice cream when you want one, but do try and pick the low cal/fat choice at mealtimes. If you really want a pudding, have one, but don't have a starter as well. Do you see what I mean? Don't go entirely overboard - you'll be grateful when you go to your first weigh-in.

Enjoy your camping Jenpoptab it can be such fun. We used to have a caravan and they were among the best holidays we ever had. Will keep my fingers (and toes) crossed for good weather for you.

That's great JenIttels and I bet you have no trouble getting the stone off during the Countdown period. Buying it proves your commitment and you're not going to miss a class you've already paid for are you? Did you get the 12 for the price of 10 offer or were you too late for that?

Poor Delly I just got over that flu thing, it was awful I really do sympathise (((hugs))). I honestly think you need comfort food at times like these. Do you feel up to making SW chips and egg? The quickest thing I can think of (apart from the jacket potato) is Pasta n Sauce. They take just 8 mins and are very comforting. You can chuck in a bit of chicken or ham if you have any already cooked. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Minerva You've got the right attitude, you'll do fine :A

Suggs 13 times that is amazing I have only many an average for once a week which is poor so well done. What you like doing at the gym? Do you have a programme or do you follow classes. I struggle with my motivation if I am not booked into a class and due to changing hours I cannot always pre-book.

Have to say I am getting a little embarassed :embarasse with all the attention. I did want to 'big myself up' because 13 sessions is my best effort yet.

Managed 9 in July, 10 in June, 11 in May, 11 April

I make notes on my phone about how long I spend on each piece of equipment, what the machine says is spent calorie wise etc. Yes it's a little rententive of me :o but I can keep tabs on me. TallGirl in answer to your question I was given a programme back in January when I started back in the gym and I just push myself hard. I wish I could attend a class, but as I cant be sure whether I am working in the office, at customer site or at home, I cant really book :)

Consultant31 I never feel like an inspiration, far from it, you yourself by been here and taking time with people is far more inspiring, All you ladies are :) At the end of the day Im just a fat bloke going down the gym :)

Lisele - Thank you, I see my children every second weekend, this weekend actually, and I only drive them home to Coventry, the ex brings them down. So I dont feel I drive that much. But thank you anyways :) Does that change your opinion of me?

Lois - Yes the maintaining and the pound gain was a kicker, but I know that all the gym work, may mean I wont lose as quickly as I might (I said might) be turning fat int muscle and muscle is denser than fat. This is actually the first time every I have trained albeit in the gym during the summer before the rugby season starts! Last time was during the season Oct - July if I recall correctly. So theres hhope for me yet.

Dellybelly No worries, my nuts are fine! I am grateful for been able to talk in this group with people that share experiences. I am more than happy been a ladydee! :D

Rachelmk - When I go away, I let the healthyeating slip, you go away to enjoy, ok I dont aim to binge either, but its like taking the the wrong turn in road, you can always get back on the right track a little later. Did you find the staue of the upside down horse?

JenIttels - Good Luck with the 10 week countdown, is this The Final Countdown! (que dogdy Rock music!)

Lizzie12 - Personally let I mentioned to TallGirl, I go away to enjoy myself, so yes its still in the back of my mind, but its no disaster if the wheels come of the choo choo! :)

Jenpoptab - Hope you have a good time with camping, last time I went under canvas it was 18years ago in the Penines in November :( I keep putting more clothes on all weekend!

Now look I have gone a written way too much again :( Im off to get a set of tyres fitted to my car, can the take the spare tyre of me? :T

Have a great weekend one and all.

Suggs: No it doesn't change my opinion of you. I just remember you writing how far you had to drive and I thought, all that in one day! I think it's great that you make the effort to see them. It's important. When my parents split, my dad got custody (long story) and even living with him, he couldn't be bothered to do anything with or for us kids. So I have a lot of respect for men who make the effort to be proper dads.

I've just run for 29 minutes and 22 seconds with no walking intervals in between. This is a personal best and I feel absolutely chuffed with myself. :) Also exercised every day since Monday (different things to cross-train and not knacker my body) without my partner having to nag me at all. Of course, it's easier as I submitted my phd to the graduate school last friday and so have been unemployed (rather than a student) since then.

    Have a good weekend! lisele

thanks guys, I'm sure it will be good but as it's our first time with all of us going I'm nervous. Not sure how 16 mth old will cope, she didn't sleep too well last night, I suppose if it comes to it we will end up in the car as not to annoy anyone else!

well done lisele for running- i can probably do 30 secs before i have to change to walking!

Thanks Jenpoptab. Your walking is probably faster than my running. I'm so slow but I'm doing it so hurray! Camping with a 16-month old sounds very brave to me. But then, OH and I are wimps and have agreed not to go camping.

Have a good weekend. I hope the weather's nice.

Lis that's so brilliant:T I can just about run for 10 mins now without breaking into a walk but i try not to (i tend to still prefer to walk/run intervals as it means i can keep going for longer overall!). Can't wait until i can manage the same amount of time as you!

Also well done on getting your Phd done last week. You must feel about 10stone lighter just for having done that!!! :rotfl:
  • Lisele, I think that's amazing, you deserve a big pat on the back:T Congratulations on getting your Phd too :j

Lisele T minus 2 hours till my Children arrive :o . Excellent work running for 29 minutes, I cant manage more than 2 minutes on the treadmill so have to stick to interval training there (90 sec jogging, 3 mins walking) But on the Cross Trainer I can mange 40 mins  I guess its down to various things.

Can I ask a silly question? Does submitting a Phd mean you have passed? I am sorry never got that far! Tech college is as far as I managed. Congratulations, you must have been well chuffed.

    Hi all

Well got back from holiday on Wednesday and today I was brave enough to weigh myself - suprisingly only put on 1lb so now 1/2lb over the stone bracket (Lois can you record my 1lb gain for this weeks 2lb club please). I am actually really pleased with that as I didn't consciously stick to the plan but must have done something right as previously a two week holiday would have meant 3-4lb on

Haven't had a chance to catch up on al the posts yet but will get through them over the next few days just to see how you are all doing.

Am not going back to my club as the leader has retired and the club has moved to a different venue. Therefore I am going to use you guys to keep me on the straight and narrow :rotfl: and put the money I was spending on my club fees into a savings account to spend on clothes when I get to my target:j .

I am going weigh in on a Friday morning so as of todays date I now have 4 stone 71/2lbs to lose to get to my target!!! I am gointg to reward myself with little non food related treats for each 1/2 stone lost to keep me going instead of the stickers from SW.

Hope everyone elses weight loss is gong well and all have a good weekend. Speak to you all again soon
