    Just a quick thought.....
Isn't it funny how we all say "I had sausage roll/curry/doughnut etc" but only ate half, or I left some of it!
We're all either complete saints or totally in denial!!!
Made me laugh when I realised that I say it all the time!

By the time I am half way through the sausage roll/curry/doughnut, I am usually thinking "Sod it, the damage is done now, I may as well finish it ..." :rotfl:

I agree with the sod the diet attitude today. I've had a funny old day. Kids are winding me up, so that I am going in sane. Picked at everything in sight today.

Eldest starts 5 mornings a week at pre-school tomorrow so that is extra exercise to and from pre-school as I was only doing that twice a week before. Looking forward to some time with my youngest on her own.

Saw a lady from pre-school earlier who commented on me wasting away- no chance of that, but it's still nice that people are commenting!

Off to a planning meeting for this term, relating to Duke Of edinburgh work, so that means I'll be resisiting the temptation of any nibbles from the fridge. Next week will be even better as I am back to being out 4or 5 evenings at work which makes the dieting so much easier! I can't believe what a difference being at home of an evening has. The lure of the fridge just becomes too much.

    Lost 3lb - well chuffed!!!
  • Before I start in on my moan, I'll give myself some perspective - Rachel, I'm so sorry to hear about your Gran. I hope that she will mend up well and be back to herself soon....:grouphug:

Well, despite being over the "worst" of the 'flu - I still feel awful. I'm getting hot flushes at night that leaves the bedclothes soaked and a horrible hacking dry cough that just won't go away and leaves me exhausted - I don't know how much sleep I got last night I spent so long coughing and then trying to get my breath back and then coughing again. Have one cough mixture but it doesn't seem to be working so I'll have to give something else a go I reckon. ... Any suggestions are welcome, I really need some sleep. (have already tried covonia). Went to speak to a pharmacist but it was closed  - just my luck today!

It seems to get worse as the day goes on. There hasn't really been too much point in me eating much as I constantly feel after a coughing fit that I'm going to lose (*ahem, trying to be polite :o) whatever it is I've just eaten.

Well done everyone who has lost or maintained, comiserations anyone who has gained! I'm off to make myself something quick to eat and difficult to lose - I hope everyone is well (and stays that way!)

Last weigh in before my hols tomorrow night, don't care how I do but I'll let you know....

Some people say Night Nurse is very good for helping you sleep but I've never tried it myself.

One thing which I find always soothes me if I have a bad cough or feel fluey is hot honey and lemon. Just put a couple of big dessertspoon sized dollops of honey into a mug, add a good slosh of concentrated lemon juice and then dissolve the honey with hot water. Add more lemon to taste if you like. This gives you a vitamin C and energy kick and although it tastes pretty foul (I hate honey) it is really soothing on your throat.

well did a huge post last night and dont know what happened but I lost it all and as it was 1030 by that time I decided to call it a night and went to bed ggggrrrrrrr.

Consultant - yes thanks lovely holiday, very relaxing.

Pug - did so laugh re your poor dad losing his trousers. Like jenittels says you know what to get him for Xmas - a belt!!!

Jenpoptab - sorry the camping trip wasnt as you would have hoped but fingers crossed for your weigh in. Great on getting the compliments about your weight loss and enjoy your additional exercise and the extra time with your youngest.

Lois have a fab time in Torquay, Im just along the road in Brixham so I will do a nice sun dance for you (burn those calories :j )

Rachel sorry to hear about your Gran - hope she mends quickly

Eels100 - totally with you on the eating 'bad stuff' - may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb :rotfl:

Honey congrats on losing the 3lb that is fab.

Delly - sorry to hear you are poorly - hope you are feeling better soon hugs. Oh try gargling with warm salted water every hour. I had a horrible cough for about two months when my father in law suggested this and it cleared in two days!!!

Well had another good day diet wise. Was on a training day today and they did a lovely salad lunch so I had the sarnie I had taken with me for tea tonight. I had a couple of chocolate fingers with my morning coffee but resisted this afternoon following my lovely lunch. Yeh I better have lost some weight this week or I will be so mad lol. Hope everyone else is going ok.

  • Monkeylugs I'm really pleased for you, your weight loss is great.
For anyone who hasn't yet started SW, this doesn't in any way, point to SW not being effective, but sometimes a shake-up is needed to get the body moving again after a prolonged period on a particular plan.

Whoops, I wasn't slating SW, just saying its obviously not the plan for me. I think I ate too much free food, but then at the same time I just struggled to keep to my syn allowance. I know SW is brilliant but it's not the plan for me.
