Agreed with fudge being a skill, it's not one I've mastered! Looks lovely
I'm in the US at the moment and have been teaching my friend how to make a basic loaf from scratch and some meringue kisses. I forgot how sweet American bread is 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -

PD, how lovely you are taking the time to post whilst you are on the other side of the world!
I do not advise looking at the ingredients list on their bread (or anything else you can buy in the shops over there). Shocking what US citizens have to eat ....so brilliant you are teaching your friend :TFirst they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

I love it when that happens :rotfl: Bananas are good substitutes for eggs, particularly in vegan baking, as are apples come to think of it. How do you eat your banana bread? I like to toast mine and cover it in peanut butter'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -

I've made a load of hot cross bun dough and left it in the fridge overnight to prove slowly. Last time I made it this way it was so good, much tastier than it normally is when I prove it for a shorter time.
I plan on leaving it in there until tomorrow lunchtime then shape and prove again before baking them.
They are my sons favourite and he's been poorly all week along with his wife and children so a hot cross bun or two might just perk him up.
Oh and I got the bread flour for 49p (short date - March 2016) and everything else was in the cupboards so not too dear either!:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -
