Didn't bake anything, but did watch the "Victorian Bakers" on iPlayer. It was very interesting.

Cake recipe please (for I can never hope to replicate your skill with a piping bag!).

Planning on treating myself to a bit of baking whilst I listen to Woman's Hour this afternoon, another two XL orange and mincemeat loaf cakes. I made this for Christmas but had forgotten how delicious it is...and indeed how quickly two large cakes get gobbled up!

Eta: re the Hobnobs - not sure that the finished product will be as tasty once frozen and defrosted, but if you make a large batch of biscuit dough you can freeze the unbaked biscuits between grease proof paper sheets and bake from frozen as and when you need them fresh.

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Sounds delicious! Regarding the piping bag, the grass tip is pretty easy, just point and squeeze, thankfully it's supposed to look messy. Regarding the recipe I don't really have one for it in writing as it's a cake I make by eye rather than weight.

Fudge-making is a skill in itself, knowing when the set point is right. Get it wrong and either it doesn't set, or you risk losing your teeth :o
