Thanks, Islandmaid - in spring I use rhubarb but redcurrants also do!
All you need is :
slighlty sweet (to taste) part- baked shortcrust, 5 - 6 beaten egg whites, sweetened to taste , fold in 100 g ground almonds or hazelnuts and 1 lbs fruit - bake until golden on around 170 - 180! I can't be more precise in the recipe as this one is in my blood, :rotfl:.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
Today i have baked a Madeira Loaf Cake, my crack is more of a side crack rather than in the middle though, my DD2 and i are going to try to bake something off GBBO each week,#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0

How nice, my mum used to make it for all festive occasions, with a lot of booze! I was muttering quite loudly watching GBBO - Kirsch is not a liqueur - it's a spirit!!
OH did wonder I think why that mattered but it really does
Last thing I made was a giant brioche with chocolate bits .First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Inspired by last week's GBBO I diverted from my usual loaf in a tin and made a Focaccia style flat bread with pesto inside and black sesame seeds. Nice crunchy crust because I forgot it was in the oven :rotfl: .First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

Today I made this. Chocolate cake, Oreo buttercream with chocolate fudge.

Also sorry if this makes you feel queasy! I made this a couple of weeks ago for a friend that loves horror films. A vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream and edible cherry blood:

How wonderful, PurpleD! Your cakes always amaze me...
Last thing I made was a simple 1/2 granary loaf, I split it in half and it went to poor student DD1, the other we had with soup for dinner. New one to be made tomorrow as I'll be away on a course soon and need a packed lunch each day...
Last cake was a simple baked cheesecake for DD2's birthday, she's easily pleased!First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0
