Yesterday, I made some chocolate brownies and added some mixed nuts to the mixture for a change.
Today, I am doing a joint of lamb in my slowcooker with tomatoes, garlic, onions, rosemary, red wine, stock, anchovies and I have just added some carrots - we shall have this tonight with runner beans (from garden) and mash.0 -

How lucky to have cobnuts nearby, I'm jealous!
Happygreen they're rampant in the orchard beyond my garden so I collect and open freeze the leaves and they crumble nicely into dishesVfM4meplse wrote: »OMG, so would I! I would wash and dry throughly and store in my freezer, worse than a squirrel, me! But hazelnuts are so delicious and so expensive, why wouldn't you celebrate nature's bounty?
VfM as above that's what we do. My neighbour and I have looked forward to the garlic and cobnuts (and pears, plums and blackberries etc) over the years but someone has just bought the orchard and is in the middle of flattening itso it looks like it's the last year's foraging for us.
Today I'm making apple, pear and blackberry crumbles, one for friends I'm visiting at the weekend, a couple of small ones for my freezer.0 -

oh, I am so sad to hear this...can't you negotiate with the new owners that you may at least get plants and cuttings? or just go and get them if it all is about to be flattened anyway?First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Unfortunately not, they've already cut down most of the trees and flame gunned the overgrown ground. At least they're not going to build on it which was our concern, they're just turning into a play garden for their children.
Today I made an Autumn fruits (apple, pear, plum, blackberry) crumble with a rolled oats and cobnut topping and a plain wm loaf.0 -
Hi. Would it be ok if I popped in now and again? I have gone down to part time work (hooray!) but this means a part time wage (boo!). It also means more time to cook from scratch on days off ( hooray!) but less money to shop for goodies( boo!). All said and done, I wouldn't change it for the world.
So, yesterday I baked gluten free loaf which was actually fine, some roasted vegetable soup and gluten free chocolate chip cookies. They are too yum and will cost my waistline dear.
Today I am making GF chocolate brownies and home made pizzas for tea.
There are some lovely ideas on here and I look forward to keeping an eye on everyone else's supper dishes!
Kind regards
