Today I've baked a coconut and cherry banana bread.
Its from Nigella's Kitchen.
Wanted something a bit different to use up the brown bananas!
It smells lovely but not tried it yet as I'm waiting for the kids/husband to get home first.
Not posted on here before, but now both my children are in full time school I have a bit more time for baking and browsing forums.
Off to look for the recipe for JJ's herb bread now, cos I think that might be my next bake.....0 -

I need help! I made this last night, and it's a stodgy brick - like a dense brownie - rather than a light cake. It's also sunk hideously in the middle.

I've not iced it yet, and need to salvage it to serve it up tonight to friends which we watch Great British Bake Off, of all things!
Any ideas what I can do? I've got the usual stuff in my baking cupboard, and cream.0 -

I've just made a batch of orange and spice buns - somewhere between a bun and a muffin. They're a complete experiment, out of the oven now and they look ok, but I'm not sure how they'll taste - I suspect that I've been a bit overenthusiastic with the ginger!0
