Some lovely baking inspiration in here! My favourite to make are cinnamon biscuits:
100g (4oz) soft butter
75g (3oz) sugar
½ tsp vanilla essence
175g (7oz) plain flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon mixed with ½ tsp sugar
How to make them
1. Pre-heat your oven to 200 degrees or Gas Mark 6 and grease a large baking tray.
2. Mix the butter, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl until light and fluffy.
3. Sieve the flour and baking powder into a bowl and then mix them together.
4. Add the flour and baking powder to the mixture and stir in so there are no lumps.
5. Sprinkle a plate with the cinnamon and sugar mix.
6. Roll out the biscuit dough so it is about ½cm thick and cut shapes out.
7. Dust the shapes in the cinnamon and sugar mix and then place them on the baking tray.
8. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes until the biscuits begin to brown.
I hope you like them if you give them a try!0 -

I made some pear and ginger muffins from an online recipe I found this morning. Followed recipe exactly as stated but muffins were HORRIBLE and are now in the bin. All I could taste was bicarb. I 've had this problem once or twice before when using American recipes calling for baking soda (bicarb) and baking powder.
I hate bicarb and cannot use those bicarb toothpastes , maybe I'm just sensitive to the taste??
ps they looked lovely!0
