Chocolate beetroot cake which we had with cherries and cream. I think a chef would probably call it a deconstructed black forest gateau.0

I used up LO roast veggies plus some salami slices - made a pie.
I used a pie plate from £1 shop.

Then I baked a mincemeat/apple pie.
The pie plate I used here is years old - used to go camping.

Yesterday I baked blueberry and peach crumb pie:
It is delicious if I do say so, but I am going to make one or two changes when I make it for a dinner party on Saturday. It has whole wheat flour in the crumb topping and I didn't like the aftertaste, but my husband did, so I think I am going to use half whole wheat and half white. It needs more lemon zest in the filling, and the pastry needs to be rolled a smidge more thinly. Otherwise, it is a big success!0 -
