Yesterday made 19 currant buns and four loaves of bread.
Last Friday was the last day of Beach Mission, and so we made some cakes for fund-raising - I baked them in flat-bottomed ice cream cones, then iced them, and they looked just like ice-creams. They went down very well, especially with children, and were the first ones to be sold out!0 -
I baked my very first loaf of bread this evening, tasted just like my mum used to make when I was little, we ate it with butter melting on top. No more shop bought bread for us anymore, it was so simple to make too :-)0

Well done you - it's so satisfying isn't it? I cheat and use a breadmaker but it's still better than shop bought as I control what goes in there and as you say it's fab with melting butter. Off to get the breadmaker out......................0 -

Was meant to be oat and chocolate chip but Mr Nobody had scoffed the choc chips!! He's around a lot in the school holidays and he trawls the cupboards and fridge regularly!! Cos my darling children wouldn't do that!!0 -

rock cakes from an old recipe.
(1001 recipe cookbook by barrett and harrop)
Really nice and not too sweet, great with a cup of tea. All ingredients were in the store cupboard.0
