I use Ina Garten raspberry & blueberry muffin recipe - they do come out exactly like the coffee shop ones and my kids love them :)

She also recommeds you use one of the round ice cream scoops to measure each one into the cases

Thank you! Is it this one? http://cookshooteat.wordpress.com/2008/09/29/best-blueberry-muffins-ever/

Please can someone tell me what a stick of butter weighs? I can't be doing with measuring it out by the spoonful!
  • A stick of butter weighs 125g or 4 oz. HTH
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Great, thank you! I think I'll be experimenting with muffins later!

I have made orange drizzle cake, chocolate and cranberry brownies, condensed milk biscuits and choc chip cookies. I think I might have to go for a long walk now after all the cookie dough I have just eaten!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

This is undoubtedly cheating.....but hey ho....:D

Last week I stayed with a work colleague overnight (we have been working on a project together for the last five years, so often stay with each other - she's in the Wirral and I'm in Birmingham). They have been fitting a new kitchen for the last eight months (!). Her OH has done all the work himself on spare evenings and weekends - and it looks like a high end showroom - it's amazing :T (We won't mention the fact that for the last eight months she's been cooking in the garage!!!).

Anyway , point of post....they bought a new bread machine to go in their super-dooper kitchen and her OH is bread-maker-in-chief. Had some with my dinner and it was amazing. It inspired me to dust off my very old, very cheap breadmaker which has been gathering dust for at least five years.

So, yesterday, I made my first loaf of bread in aaaaaaages, well, the machine made it. That still counts! I made a granary loaf with added seedy bits and it's yummy

No more shop bought bread from now on. I'm so glad I *didn't* Freegle the breadmaker when I cleaned that cupboard out!
