I made a lovely rice pudding in my slowcooker. My DS1 has eaten a huge portion. Im just preparing to make pancakes for tea!!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I haven't posted on this thread for a while, so my last bit of baking was making a weetabix cake on sunday. It ended up a bit stodgy even after an extra 40 minutes in the oven, so I think I need to experiment with oven temperatures (a fine excuse, I feel
).
Tonight I'm making scotch pancakes - I haven't made them before so I hope they'll work out.
alipops1986 - a rather late response, I know, but, assuming the icing is just orange juice and sugar, then it should be fine to freeze.Back after a very long break!0 -
They're for a meeting at work tomorrow - should deflect anything they want our team to do!0 -
What beautiful pictures you've all posted - very inspiring:j
Today I have baked a golden harvest cake (slight variations so called a golden mummy cake) All my kids are 'growed' up, but I'm still Mummy. I intended making two cakes to save on electricity - but realised that I'd run out of flour - DOH! (no pun intended)
I have thirteen largish bread rolls waiting to go in the oven. They will go with our lentil soup tonight and some to freeze for my work lunches next week0 -

Today I made homity pie for the first time! It was absolutely delicious and I'm sure will become a favourite in our house! Also made a treacle tart with the leftover pastry, and some butterfly buns!
Here's the recipe for the homity pie if any one wants to try it! And of course it's very MSE :money:
