One of the students in the care home I teach in is obsessed with curry - everything he makes has to have curry in it.
We were about to make curried cheese and potato pasties, but he suddenly decided on Chelsea buns.
Should have been called Madras buns really, as two large dessertspoons of Madras curry powder went in with the flour.:rotfl:
The staff assures me that he will eat them all! They aren't as bad as they sound;) - really!
Cheers, Paul
I must admit my first reaction was _pale_, as I had visions of a normal fruity, iced chelsea bun with a rather savoury surprise. But obviously that isn't the case :rotfl:. Is it :eek:0 -
Yesterday I had a go at cooking a sponge in the microwave, I made lemon sponge with lemon curd at the bottom and it was delicious, a very quick pud!!Slightly bitter0

Just finsihed a batch of 'ready meals' cos now the better weather is here, we would rather be outside than slaving over a hot stove. Starting with...big box mince +2 salmon steaks+1 smoked haddock fillet+4chick thighs +4drumsticks+2 HUGE potatoes+ carrots, onions, bit of bacon+ 1/2 box mushrooms +storecupboard stuff, I made and froze
2 trays lasagne
2 trays fish pie (mash)
1 tray chick/mushroom pie (pastry)
1 tray cottage pie (mash)
1 tray chick/mushroom cottage (mash)
6 asstd 'cornish' pasties
2 trays crispy coated chick drumsticks for the oven
That means 11 assorted meals for the two of us, costing about £15 altogether. Not bad for a mornings work !
Now , whats for tea ?
