3 Large jam tarts with tinned pineapple, made with a bread dough

    Cheers, Paul

Like the sound of these 2, more info. would be good, thanks.:T

Made my first brown loaf in the BM, a disaster, no idea why. So back to plan a) a soft grain & white flour mixed bread, have made before and is normally ok. What will I do with the brown loaf, other than throw it away, which I am loath to do.

Inspired by the School Recipes thread, I dug out a recipe in my old school recipe folder (now 35 years old).

Apple Pudding, so simple and small enough for us to have just one portion each. Just need to find space in our bellies after main course.:o

I baked bread pudding today - should have blitzed the bread in the food processor though as it has a few lumpy bits in it :o.

I always just soak mine in water, or milk/water mixed and mash down with a fork. So quick and easy, not worth getting the FP out for.

Lumpy bits sound ok to me. I bet it still tasted yummy!!!!!

Might have to try to make my disastrous brown loaf into a bread pudding, thanks for the idea.:)

Hi I attempted to make shortcrust pastry but, it turned out soooo wrong! I was piecing it together. Rolled out with a vinegar bottle. - I say rolled, it was more squashed really! My bf went out and got me the necessary i.e. rolling pin, weighing scales e.t.c. So hopefully I will make something thats edible next time. I attempted to guess the quantities, bad idea lol.

I baked cauliflower cheese for mum and dad this afternoon.

Put some small (or cut up) spuds in a large pan & start to cook.
After 5mins add cut up cauliflower (and/or broccoli)
    Cheese sauce
Fry 1/4 of an onion in butter or marge, !!! another lump of marge and when melted add a big tbsp of plain flour & mix it in.
Add a small amount of milk and mix, add some more and mix again. (use a balloon whisk). Use about 450ml of milk (as heats up it will thicken), keep stirring as it does.
Then add a big handful of grated cheddar.

Drain spuds and cauli (and or broccoli) and put in an oven proof dish. Pour over cheese sauce and bake for 15-20mins @ 180*c.
(I added abit of parmesan I had lurking which I sprinkeld on before baking.
    I also used dried onion),

I cant stand cauliflower myself but I was assured it was nice.

Sorry about the basic recipie hopefully it will be useful to somebody.
Proud to be dealing with my debts:j

I made rhubarb and ginger muffins with my first crop of rhubarb from the garden this year, they are delicious and all the more fabulous because the rhubarb was freshly picked this morning!

The thread is here, there are a few different versions in it, I use the one with an egg and sweetener instead of sugar...

Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p
