Just making wheetabix cake. Couldn't find my loaf tin so made them in my muffin moulds. Looking good! Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

yesterday I made some parmesan and sundried tomato shortbreads from a US recipe. At least that's what they were supposed to be, though they turned out to be a whole baking tray covered in a half inch deep sheet of crispy, very tasty cheese 'dust'. I then ate it with a spoon as it was delicious. Then felt ill and couldn't eat any supper. have more of the same mix left so think I need to add lots more flour, and perhaps an oat or two (like the bero oatcakes) to make them stay as separate biscuits.0

Well the cherry and eggshell cake (see earlier post) turned out lovely despite the messing about it got. I've eaten about half of it and only had one incident of possible eggshell and even if it was a fragment of shell it caused no choking or any other problem.0

For the first time, I baked Tiger bread. Made 2 small loaves. After chasing DD2 and the Bloke out of the kitchen 3 times, they left for Brownies ten minutes ago - carrying 3/4 of the first loaf in half inch slices slathered with butter.
Their parting shots were (instead of the usual 'laters' type of thing)
'We love you. But we're going to have to chain you to the oven for the rest of your life.'
I can make Tiger BreadI could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Jojo - can I ask how you make tiger bread, please? My dad loves it but can't get it where he lives, and he'd be most pleased if I turned up with a loaf of bread instead of a bottle of wine next time I visit.
Thank you!Back after a very long break!0 -
