we had our Family Fireworks party today the kids supplied the fireworks - I did the food! btw the 'kids' are MY kids and they brought their kids aged 2 to 12! in case anyone thought I was letting children buy or play with fireworks.
I made Sausage Roll out of Cumberland sausages, sage and onion stuffing and a very rich shortcrust pastry.
A HUGE pot of fried onions to go with the six tins of hot dog sausages.
Cheese Straws
Cheese and tomato pinwheels
Chicken Drumsticks (plain as two of the kids hate their meat messed about with)
Pepperami Pizzas
Potato Wedges (from the takeaway secret book as they are Delish)
and individual little bacon and egg quiches
oh and a couple of tubs of chicken tikka and cornish pasties from Asda - saw them when i went in to pick up finger rolls and thought it would save me a bit of time! cant really claim any credit for those as I only warmed them up!
oh and meanwhile I stuffed and roasted a chicken for supper and OH will have that with chips and gravy in half hour or so!0 -
Had some apple, pear and sour cherry compote left from a big dish I cooked yesterday ( easy peasy - served with greek yoghurt just stewed fruit really). Topped the leftover fruit with a basic sponge mixture - made an interesting eves pudding which went well with the pork roast tonight.
BTW sour cherries were a small pkt of dried fruit from supermarket - simples !0 -
