Sazzarella that looks fantastic :D Reminds me of my 16th birthday cake, my friends made me a 3 tier cake with each tier a different colour!

Today I baked a halved sweet potato stuffed with butternut squash, mushrooms and onions.
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

Hi Ive made a birthday cake for my nephew. Its a Hickory Dickory Dock cake. magine a cake covered in icing with a clock face iced on. The hands are pointing to the number one, coz thats how old he is, and theres a little white mouse made from icing sitting on top. An orange ribbon around it to finish. Looks delicious! Hope it tastes ok x

I am really trying to get more competent in the baking department as DS loves his snacks and shop bought sausage rolls/cakes last him about two minutes as they are all puff and no substance.

    Today I have made

Victoria Sponge - more like Victoria Falls Sponge as gone !!!! eyed since putting the buttercream and jam on - lol
Think will do same mix next time but make fairy cakes or tray bake

    Chocolate butterfly cakes

Choc chip cookies - tad dark around the edges but taste okay

Sausage rolls using Jusrol Puff Pastry

Who knows this time next year I may try Christmas cake
Who knows this time next yeat

Finally found a 1lb loaf tin! I've been trying to make Delia's Sticky Tea Bread from her Frugal Food cookbook but only had a 2lb tin and it was like Discworld dwarf bread (note to self: do NOT bake 1lb mix in a 2lb tin for the time stated in the recipe)
Baked a 1lb one this afternoon - nom nom nom! That will do nicely for DH's lunch boxes over the coming week!

lovely gooey rocky-road type fridge-thingy with loads of odds and ends I found lurking in the cupboard. mmmmmmm.
  • Banana loaf with some cranberries and pecans thrown it for good measure. I did a double batch as had 6 really ripe bananas to use up. Really delicious- even enjoyed by DD and DS who can be fussy about things I produce!
