I don't normally post here, but I've had a really productive day so thought I'd share it.

I've made a large pot of green soup using spares from my allotment - carrot tops, beetroot leaves, outer cabbage leaves plus bits and bobs from the fridge.

I used up the last three bananas that were starting to go off and a few lumps of cooking choccy and made a banana and chocolate loaf.

OH made a spelt loaf of bread and did dinner tonight even though the footy was on

Just made dough in my Panasonic breadmaker to do bread rolls.....wow, they are fabulous....to think I wasted a whole year only trying loaves!!

Have part-baked 2 rolls and put them in the freezer as I want to find out if it's possible to bake them from frozen to make fresh tasting rolls whenever I want without having to wait through the whole dough cycle again.......I am sadly very excited by this....I need a hobby!
  • Well I baked chocolate brownies that sank in the middle and spilled over the sides and burnt. Then I made cheese pasties that fell apart in the oven so not a very productive day:(

You can freeze them as just dough, don't take long to thaw and prove

This morning, I decided I was coming in late to work (have worked extra hours in mornings, and late evenings too much recently, and late meeting tonight means at leat after 7, and again tomorrow, before I finish). So aiming for a 10am start, I woke earlier than hoped so made a batch of raspberry jam (I got LOADS on the plot last night) and one and a half batches of raisin scones (I made a half batch as a "test the jam" batch, and them realised I had a carton of cream gone just over date, so made a full batch with that).

The half batch were taken to work, with a tub of butter and the half jar of jam (there are 3 full ones in the cupboard at home!) for testing purposes. All worked well, and I had 2 requests for the scone recipe (an old one from mum that I've been making for about 30 years).

Hiya I made scones yesterday. FOund two recipes - one says plain flour and the other says SR. What one do you use please?

    Thank you

Yum, this thread has got me in the mood for baking. I just haven't got a clue what to make. Need to use up a bar of cooking chocolate and have all the usual baking suspects. Any suggestions?
