We had a barbecue and while we were waiting for the barbecue to be hot enough I rustled up some doughballs (like the ones you get in Pizza Express) and some garlic and chive butter. They were very popular0

Well I put my elderflowers in to steep for champagne, made pea, ham and veg soup and froze for lunch next week and have a lemon sponge baking as I type to be topped with lemon icing when cooled. Yum!0

Sure! It's basically just pizza dough.
250g strong white bread flour
4g instant yeast (a bit less would probably have done the trick)
5g salt
Good splash of extra virgin olive oil
150 ml warm water (about 30 degrees)
Preheat the oven as high as it goes (about 250º). Throw it all in a food mixer and knead with a dough hook. Or do it by hand if you don't have a mixer. Prove the dough for half an hour. Then knock back, shape into balls, spray with water and bake for 10 mins.
I had to put mine on two shelves on the oven, and when the ones on the top shelf were ready I left the others in for another five minutes as they were slightly under-done.
For the garlic butter, I softened 125g of unsalted butter (half a pack), used a pestle and mortar to crush three cloves of garlic with some Maldon salt, and finely chopped some chives, and mixed it all together and put back in the fridge to harden up a bit before serving.0 -
I made spiced apple muffins this afternoon
I just had one a little while out of the oven - bliss!

This was my fourth attempt at baking a rye loaf. I followed all the instructions implicitly, used the right paddle, and still ended up with a brick! What am I doing wrong??0

I've not been baking today, that'll be later in the week when I do whoopie pies and cup cakes, but I have made elderflower cordial. I was out walking with the dog on Friday and saw all these lovely elderflowers so as they were free...........now all I need is some gooseberries to make jam, I can't seem to see them anywhere in N.I0
